The air in the cake store felt different now, lighter, warmer. The golden afternoon light poured through the windows like syrup, soft and glowing, catching the edges of frosting samples and bouncing off pastel-colored plates. The girls had started to talk again, but this time without the chaos. No one was fighting over flavor anymore. No one was trying to one-up anyone else.
They were just… excited.
Jane rolled up the sketch papers and tapped them neatly against the table. "Okay. If we're doing ten tiers, we need a stronger base support system. I don't trust fondant physics."
Shea nodded rapidly, straw halfway in her mouth. "Can we do a center chandelier effect? So the bottom looks like it's floating?"
Mila gasped. "Yes! With hanging pearls… like a glam crystal garden!"
Vivian grabbed her phone and pulled up a reference photo, eyes sparkling. "Exactly like that one cake that looked like a glass castle. But dark-academia style."
