Evan sat cross-legged on his bed, back against the headboard, phone in one hand and a bag of half-eaten chips crumpled at his side. The soft hum of lo-fi beats played from his speaker in the background, but his attention was all on the call. His room was a quiet space… clean, minimal, a little too perfect for someone his age. The kind of room that always looked like it belonged to someone trying very hard to be unnoticeable.
"I'm serious," Geralt said through the phone, his voice crackling slightly due to happiness. "Nine. Nine women, man. I'm starting to think your brother got cursed by a harem author god."
Evan laughed, low and warm. "Yeah… at least it wasn't ten. That would've felt excessive."
"Oh, because nine is modest," Geralt shot back, and the two of them cracked up again.
