As I am putting on my lipgloss my phone rings, my face lights up and I'm grinning like an idiot. I answer it
"Hey sweet girl, Been so busy. How are you?" his voice raspy and low
"Hey Handsome! That's okay I understand. I'm okay. How are you?"
"I'm good. Tired mostly, what are you up to?"
"Me and Charlotte are actually leaving soon, Christian is having a little thing for his friend's birthday" I say softly. I know he is going to ask about Jason.
"Sounds fun, Just close friends?"
"Yeah. Christian's friends mostly"
"So will Jason be there?" his voice low
"Probably, I think so"
"Okay, please be careful. Don't drink too much sweet girl. Look I've got to go, I'll speak to you soon" he says softly
"I won't I promise, Speak soon" I hang up
To be honest I kind of expected him to tell him not to go or to not be around Jason. I was so used to being told what to do and not to do, it was weird that Simon trusted me. With Jason he would have asked me not to go or challenge me. But with Simon, everything was different with him, in the best way possible.
"Girl you look hot" Charlotte grins at me as I walk into the living room. I'm wearing a black dress. "Why thank you. You look super hot too" she spins in her green maxi dress which hugged her figure oh so perfectly.
"Come on let's go" she says grabbing her keys
"How are you feeling ?" she says glancing at me "I'm nervous. I don't really want to see Jason but I know it's going to happen eventually. I mean he hasn't even made an effort to apologise. I just feel uneasy about seeing him again"
"I understand babe. Look Christian will be there and you know he won't hesistate to put him in his place"
"Yeah I know. I just wished things didn't happen the way they did"
After a 20 minutes drive we arrive at Christian's. The small get together seems a little bigger than I thought it would be.
"Hey babe" Christian kisses Charlotte.
"Hey LI" He hugs me "Hey what happened to the small get together?"
"Yeah I know got out of hand" he laughs.
I spent the evening trying to avoid Jason but that was in vain. He saw me standing in the garden talking to Olivia and just starred at me. His eyes wandering up and down my body which made me feel uncomfortable. I carry on my conversation with Olivia and I catch him walking over in the corner of my eye. "Hey can I have a word?" He says looking at me "I'll leave you guys to it" Olivia says before she leaves. "Look Li, I'm sorry for how I acted. It was dick-ish of me"
"Thanks and yeah it was very dick-ish"
"I know, I was upset about the whole thing and I had one too many drinks anyway I'm sorry" he says rubbing his head. I give him a short smile wanting the conversation to be over already "So you and Simon. Did that happen straight after I left or" he says sarcastically
"I'm not having that conversation with you Jason and it's a bit hypocritical of you isn't it. You were being secretive on FaceTime with whomever, always hiding your phone, going on walks by yourself for hours" I glare at him.
"Just saying it doesn't look on you" he huffs
"How dare you?! You know what Jason piss off!" I retreat back inside to find Charlotte. I couldn't help but feel like some people were giving me looks and starring at me. I find Charlotte in the kitchen talking Amy and Christian. She has a worried look on her face
"Everything okay? I feel like everyone is looking at me" I say walking in.
"Oh Li" Charlotte frowns.
"What?" I tilt my head to the side "Tell her Amy"
"Your ex has been telling everyone that you cheated on him on holiday with charlotte's brother" my mouth slightly opens and my eyes wide. "What?" My voice croaky "He's telling people that you're a slut and was sleeping with her brother and then dumped him" I rub my head and lean against the counter.
"He's pissed at me too. Apparently I'm a traitor and knew about it all" Christian shakes his head.
"That would explain what he was just saying to me"
"What do you mean?" Charlotte asks
I take a deep breath and storm out of the kitchen "Li what are you? Li ?" Charlotte shouts behind me.
I walk into the living room and turn off the music. Everyone turns to me including Jason who was with some chick.
"Hi everyone. Sorry to interrupt your fun. I'd like to make something very clear as I know there are some bullshit lies being told about me. First I never cheated on Jason, not even once, I'm pretty sure it's the other way round" his eyes widen. "Second I've been treated like crap and taken for granted for two years. Breaking up with him was purely because I know my worth and I deserve better. And third, YES .Not that it's any of your business but yea I'm sleeping with Charlotte's brother. He everything I could have ever wanted and more. He is a real man! Thank you and good night" I put my drink on the side and grab my bag. Charlotte follows behind me
"Li that was bad ass!" she laughs
"I don't know what came over me. I just had enough of him, even when I'm not with him he manages to make me feel like shit"
"I know babe. I'm glad you took a stand" She smiles at me
"I just want to go home and chill. I can't be bothered to be here anymore" I sigh
"Look I'm spending the night here, take my keys and go home. Text me when you get in " she hands me the keys and kisses me on the cheek
"Thanks char, I will. See you later" I kiss her back and get in the car and drive home.
As soon as I get in I take off my clothes and hop in the shower. I was a bit tipsy and I just wanted to wash away the troubles of tonight. After my shower I hop into bed and put on a movie.
