A catastrophic invasion of Hades' 1,000 Specters clashed against Athena's 313 Saints. For four grueling years, a young girl named Anissa Maharani stared at the destruction of the historic city. She was not just a witness; she was the vessel. Following the tragic death of Saori Kido decades prior—executed by Zeus for defending her lover, Sagittarius Seiya—Athena's divine soul had reincarnated into a new age. Anissa Maharani was now the 5th Incarnate Athena of the 21st century.
The roots of this conflict traced back to the Age of Gods, two hundred millennia ago. The first war erupted not out of hatred, but out of Hades' dark obsession to marry the Holy Maiden Athena. When Athena refused, Hades orchestrated a cruel plot, sending a beautiful maiden named Medusa to assassinate her, planning to play the savior. Athena, seeing through the deception, cursed Medusa into a blind, snake-haired monster.
History repeated itself in cycles of betrayal. Twelve years ago, in 2013, the Grand Pope, Great Sage Seiya, summoned a reunion of the Twelve Gold Saints at the Athena Temple. The Golden Dragon Temple—the long-lost Ophiuchus Shrine—had reemerged after a thousand years. Its last ruler, Queen Cleopatra of Ancient Egypt, had once rivaled Athena in beauty and craftsmanship. Consumed by arrogance, Cleopatra challenged Athena to a duel and lost. Her soul was cast into the depths of Tartarus, where she eventually rose to become one of the Supreme Court Justices of the Underworld, replacing Wyvern Aiacos.
But in the modern era, the Ophiuchus Saint was no longer an enemy. Mamoru, the current Ophiuchus Gold Saint and the Prince of the World from the ancient "IM" bloodline, stood by Anissa's side. He wielded the imperial power of an 800-year-old dynasty, not to usurp Athena, but to guarantee her safety from the shadows.
Act II: The Kuoh Academy Crisis and the Shattered Peace
In November 2013, seeking a semblance of a normal life to hide her divine cosmos, Anissa enrolled as a student at Kuoh Academy in Japan. With her breathtaking grace, intelligence, and hidden divinity, she was quickly named one of the "Ten Great Onee-samas" of the school, alongside elites like Arturia Pendragon, Rias Gremory, Akeno Himejima, Sona Sitri, Tsubaki Shinra, and her closest confidante, Eka Puteri.
However, peace in Kuoh was short-lived. Anissa confessed to Eka her feelings for a boy named Ridho. While Eka initially supported her, a rift tore them apart when Eka witnessed the unusual, obsessive behavior of a man named Darman toward Anissa. The tension caused a fallout. When the summer vacation arrived, Eka returned to her homeland of Indonesia, while Anissa remained in Japan under Darman's watchful eye.
That summer, hell broke loose. Kuoh City was besieged by a massive terrorist assault led by the Fallen Angel Kokabiel and his 1,000 cadres. Soon after, the rogue governors Belial and Raziel launched their own assaults. The Akatsuki faction struck next, resulting in the tragic death of Kunou, the heir to the Kyubi no Yoko, who was subsequently reincarnated as the Ibis of the Gremory Family.
Simultaneously, the global supernatural world collapsed into chaos:
The Nordic Realms were devastated by a terrifying army of evil dragons led by three sky-tier calamities: Acnologia the Dragon King of Darkness, Azi Dahaka, and the Crescent Dragon Crom Cruach.
The Chaos Brigade, led by the Infinite Dragon God Ophis, welcomed Kaguya Otsutsuki into their ranks—the ancient being who had once stopped the thousand-year war between Yhwach's Quincy and Genryusei Yamamoto's Gotei 13. Their goal was to resurrect the fallen Divine Dragon destroyed by the Demon Gods.
The Hero Faction, led by Cao Cao, clashed with the Four Great Satans, allowing Rizevim Livan Lucifer to unleash the apocalyptic beast Trihexa, forcing the leaders of the Satans, Angels, and Heavenly Gods into a desperate alliance.
The Holy Grail went rogue, resurrecting the Seven Evil Dragons: Apophis, Azi Dahaka, Jormungandr (Midgard), Ladon, Grendel, Yamata no Orochi, and Bahamut.

September 20, 2021. Jakarta was a city masked in a tense calm. Anissa, having finished her studies in Japan, had returned home to Indonesia.
At a quiet local cafeteria, Anissa sat with her boyfriend, Adam, while executing a secret plan of her own. She had also arranged to meet Ridho, the boy from her past. As they waited for their food, Adam looked at her anxiously, breaking the silence.
"Have you heard about the earthquake that shook Hammer City?" Adam asked, adjusting his posture.
Anissa nodded softly, her eyes reflecting a heavy, ancient sorrow. "Yes, I've heard the news. These past few years, our homeland has faced so much tragedy."
"They say what happened in East Java is tied to a Power Stone," Adam lowered his voice, leaning in. "A stone once used by the healer Parameswari to cure the sick. It was a gift directly from the Ruler of the Southern Coast."
Anissa knew exactly what he meant. Queen Kadita was one of the nine magical rulers of Java, born from a war of the Gods hundreds of thousands of years ago on the lands of India. That Power Stone was part of the Five Precious Gemstones currently scheduled for auction in New York City. The auction was a hotbed of global danger, heavily guarded by local mafia and specialized police, because the world's deadliest criminal syndicates were actively targeting it:

The doors of the cafeteria opened. Standing there were the Gold Saints, led by Sagittarius Koga and Capricorn Arturia, their golden cloths gleaming beneath the Indonesian sun. Behind them stood Mamoru, the Ophiuchus Saint, his eyes locked onto Anissa with fierce loyalty.
They knelt in unison before the young woman.
"Athena," Koga spoke, his voice echoing with the weight of Sanctuary. "The world is burning, the evil dragons walk the earth, and the factions have united in malice. We have searched across dimensions and oceans. Your Sanctuary is assembled. It is time to lead us into the final Holy War."
