Levi took Everette to the living room, then waved Claire away, instructing her to stay on standby in case Everette needed anything.
He sat down across from his brother, lips pressed into a thin line.
Everette had his hands folded in his lap, a prominent frown etched onto his face—one that only deepened the longer Levi stayed silent.
Finally, Everette huffed in impatience and annoyance.
“Well?”
Levi sighed. “I’m not getting out of this, am I?”
Everette only glared at him.
Levi rolled his eyes and raised a hand in surrender. “Oh, fine. But what I’m about to tell you is… a lot. So brace yourself.”
Everette rolled his eyes right back and made a go on motion.
Levi let out a long breath, stared directly into his brother’s eyes, and allowed the words to spill out.
“I’m going to destroy our father.”
Everette blinked—but he didn’t flinch or recoil the way Levi had expected.
“What?”
Levi shrugged. “It’s exactly what I said, Eve. I’m going to destroy our father.”
