Nan Jiaojiao wiped the corner of her mouth. "He didn't."
"Can you really know if he did or not?"
Nan Jiaojiao replied matter-of-factly, "If I don't know, then it means there's nothing."
"So, there is something?"
"I really don't know. How could I know if he did or not? If he really wanted to hide a mistress, do you think he'd let me find out?"
Lu Zhenzhen leaned back in her chair, held a cigarette between her fingers, skillfully lit it and blew out a couple of smoke rings. It didn't calm her inner turmoil, and with her lips pressed, she said, "Then how the hell do I know!"
Nan Jiaojiao almost responded, but she was choked back by a mouthful of pastry. She carefully glanced at Lu Zhenzhen's expression and the phone set aside. She had overheard the call earlier, and even though she didn't hear what the other person said, Lu Zhenzhen's rare emotional outburst could only be because of Gao Zhe.
