Xu Shu did not shy away; he stood before Madam Xu, his posture still upright, but inside he felt an indescribable unease. His thin lips pressed slightly, losing some of their color, yet his tone remained as gentle as ever: "Yes, I know, Tingting is the younger sister."
Madam Xu let out a sigh of relief, "It's late, get some rest early."
She raised her hand, seemingly wanting to pat his shoulder, but eventually did not. She cast a gentle glance at him and turned to go upstairs.
Xu Shu stood there for a long time, long enough that a car drove in. He blinked, and his expression gradually warmed.
Xu Qingbo had returned. He hung the car keys by the door, changed his shoes, and came in, just in time to see Xu Shu coming down the stairs. "Hey, Big Brother, you're here."
Xu Shu had already let down his sleeves, and the cufflinks were buttoned neatly and properly. He smiled warmly and said, "Why are you back so late?"
