Elie stands at the top of the clock tower, looking down to gauge the distance. “Good enough.” Just as they spread their arms to take the leap to their doom, they hear a familiar voice speak.
“Are you really going to end it all without taking accountability for using me in your plan?”
Elie looks back to see Sienna staring with a frown and sighs. “That wasn’t my call. Boss called in the big dogs to compel you into cooperating without even knowing it. I had no say in it at all.”
“Maybe not, but the fact remains I’m indirectly responsible for the death of Nadia’s precious family!” She responds with anger. “Her sister’s wife died because I unknowingly brought in something that belonged to him and his servants, which got recalibrated with the barrier. Nadia said she doesn’t blame me and understands I was deceived and used, but I’ll always have guilt!”
