Chapter 201 - Chapter 193: Difference in opinion

Back in Nazarick

All the Guardians, Co-Guardians, and Pleiades were still in the Throne Room, except Tasumaki, who left after saying she needed to talk with the Ancient One personally.

So expect her; all other guardians were still in the throne room. And their presence was so suffocating that all the Homunculi have left the room, as they can't handle the order of Aurora.

And they all were sitting at a square table except Pleiades, who was stationed at one side of the table.

The first one to break the pin drop silence was Albedo.

"I still don't understand why Ancent-sama hasn't given the order to exterminate the traitors. I can't fathom his intention of this decision to spare them even when they stole the handmade artifact of Ancient-sama. They should have had their existence erased before they came up with another one of their stupid plans." Venom dripped as Albedo thought about their children, who went against their creator.

Albedo loved her children because they are Ancient-sama's essences; she loved them without limits, all of them. Yes, it's true that there is a slight rivalry with other guardians and co-guardians about who got the best children. But there was no discrimination between them all because there was no need to; there is enough wealth for Nazarick to be prosperous for another million years.

"What do you think we should do then?" Esdeath asked, hearing Albedo.

"We should form an assault party and search and destroy all the traitors." Silence followed after what Albedo said.

And the guardians and co-guardian turned their eyes to Albedo.

"Are you telling us to form an assault party behind Ancient-sama's back? Are you mocking Ancient-sama's order? I didn't expect that from you, Albedo. If you do that, you are no different from what our children did." Esdeath's aura spiked as she looked at Albedo.

Esdeath knows about Albedo's oppression of Ancient-sama, and she herself wasn't any better either; for the Ancient One's happiness, she won't even mind anything. But going against order was something she wouldn't even consider as a passing thought, and Albedo just said that. To go against a direct order.

"We work under Ancient-sama; we follow his wishes, and we don't question it, even if we don't understand. Wasn't that what you said to me, Albedo?" Rory's voice echoed in the grand hall.

Unlike her playful self, which she portrayed with the lady's talk even at school. Currently, she looks like she would cut Albedo's head off if she didn't make her intention clear.

Their only job in existence was to follow the Ancient One's order. And Albedo was suggesting to go against that very ideal.

"I know that you are all angry, but you all must have observed that the Ancient One is acting weird. Even after losing a semi-world-class item, the only punishment Throximus got was being locked up on the seventh floor," Albedo said, and then she looked at Rory. "And yes, Rory, I said those words myself. But I also said that we also need to protect the Ancient One from anyone with malicious intent, and I fear that what happened with Ra, Chronos, and other gods will happen to our lord."

Everyone present here knows that Albedo was speaking with sincerity, and it was a rare sight also. More often than not, Albedo didn't need to ask them for anything, not for their opinion, not for their feelings, because Albedo was self-sufficient enough to get what she desired at the end. She has the brains to manipulate most of them into getting what she desires.

The only ones who were smarter in diplomacy than her were Ancient One, Demiurge, and maybe Aurora. So she speaking openly without hiding her intent is indeed a rare sight.

May she thought only truth can pursue them; either way there is no way they would allow her to form an assault party behind Ancient One's back.

"I understand your fear, Albedo," Angrboda said, folding her arms beneath her bosom. "Ra and Chronus were arrogant and underestimated their children, thinking that they were weak, and they were also paranoid about their children taking the throne, especially Chronus." Then she looked Albedo in the eyes.

"While I believe you are intellectual and competent to be above us and give orders, I didn't think you would make such a stupid proposal."

"What do you mean?" Albedo asked as she clearly couldn't grasp what Angaboda was saying.

"Ra and Chronos aren't Ancient One, Albedo. He isn't paranoid about anything because he knows what's going to happen," Angrboda said, and then she turned to Aurora, who hadn't said anything till now.

"You're awfully quiet, Auroro. Don't tell me you are considering Albedo's stupid proposal."

"Yes, actually. While what you said is true about Ancient-sama not being the same as other gods. But what if Ancient-sama is getting bored, wishes to retire, and gives the throne to one of the children? That's what happened in Norse Patron." She then looked at all the co-guardians and guardians.

"And if he hands over the throne first thing our children, whoever they are, will do is end Ancient-sama. And we can't allow that. No, I can't allow that. I swear to protect my creator, even in my last breath, and I promise to shield him and won't even allow dust to touch him, but today..." She pointed to Angrboda. "...Your child touched my lord, and all I could do was hold my anger. If Ancient-sama ordered, I would have killed all those stinking loins, which we give birth to and present to my lord. But..." She broke off her speech and looked at that Ainz Ooal Gown banner, then at Ancient One's banner.

She was her lord's first creation, and she believed that she knew him better than anyone; that's why she feared if Ancient One was going to step down.

This thought was not something that occurred randomly. It was her observation from the century. The Ancient One never gave any severe punishment to his children, even when they betrayed him. At first she thought nothing about it. Of course, she was angry, but even when his child stole a WCI, he didn't say anything that confirmed her theory. What was currently happening wasn't a rebellion but a succession war.

Of course, Ancient One never said anything even when she asked why he was sparing the traitors. He just laughs it off.

While Albedo's proposal was stupid, that's the only way Ancient One can win a war, which he is planning to lose.

Ancient One may kill her for disobeying, but her life is for Ancient One to begin with.

Just then, a voice cut the building pressure between the Guardians' Overseer and the Guardians.

"I thought you ladies spent more time with Ancient One than us men, and still you guys couldn't grasp his intent, and instead you are fighting against each other. Truly pitiful." Antares said with a wide grin.
