Chapter 48 - The Scavenger Queen

After the Titan fell, a heavy silence filled the air. Only the sound of dust settling and metal cooling broke it.

Revas sat cross-legged on the giant's chest in the crater. He held the crystal heart in both hands and bit into it as if it were an oversized apple.

Each time he took a bite, golden light pulsed down his throat, lighting up his ribs through his skin before fading into his stomach.

"Dense," Revas critiqued, talking with his mouth full. "But the aftertaste is divine."

He tossed the last piece of the heart into his mouth and swallowed. He burped, and a small shockwave of golden sparkles burst out.

He stood and wiped celestial fluid from his chin. Looking up at the West Tower miles away, he saw tiny figures on the wall and waved to them with enthusiasm.

From the city gates, a lone rider emerged.
