Some of those timetables would be a little more flexible or loose in how they could be arranged, so some days they could have days off or get home earlier as a result of them completing the required time they had to work or attend certain classes.
School and some workplaces were a lot stricter for attending them during the set times, but other places were not so strict with watching over the attendance of each person and making sure they remained in their class.
It was far more strict in school for that, and it was just as strict for a lot of college classes, but there did exist a lot of university courses that often left the students to their studies and their projects.
In those types of settings, it was usually much easier for students to attend early so that they could sign in on the attendance registry and spend some time there, but they could easily leave early.
