One day, the giant tree called each of the three children before it, and spoke the same words to them.
The giant tree said, "My children, I wish to emulate my creator by giving you each a precious gift, but I do not possess their great abilities, so I can only let you choose a gift. Tell me what you desire, and I will grant it to you, then with this gift, help each other with your brothers and sisters."
First was the eldest of the three children, who said, "I want to know all the things that happened in the past so that I can continually repeat those events to learn from them, making myself unmatched."
The giant tree said, "Alright."
Then, the eldest child left the side of the giant tree with a clear understanding of the past.
Secondly, the youngest of the three children said to the giant tree, "I want to know the future, the predetermined outcomes, so that I do not feel uneasy about future uncertainties."
The giant tree said, "Alright."
