Qifeng Mountain, Ye Huang looked at the already blank screen of his phone and chuckled foolishly. It was as if the screen showed not darkness, but his wife with a charming smile.
"Knock knock!"
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door, breaking Ye Huang's fantasy.
He disappointingly withdrew his gaze from the blank screen and angrily shouted, "Who is it?"
"Young Master Ye, Xu Jing has returned." Fu Xue said, her steady voice tinged with excitement.
Ye Huang's eyes brightened, and he quickly climbed out of bed, tidied his collar, and opened the bedroom door with a dignified air.
"Where is she?"
"She's almost here." Fu Xue said.
Ye Huang waited in the living room: the town had no upscale hotels, and this suite was already the best available.
He had just video-called Bai Xiao, so Ye Huang's mood was still quite good, though he appeared cold, his eyes quietly hinted at a smile.
Fu Xue found it very peculiar but dared not ask more.
