Tamiko was deflecting.
That was the first thing that Kosta had noticed the moment he had stepped away from the Lycan prince.
He knew it wasn't because of him or anything, but there was more to them than the way that Yilena had walked in, her head held high like she didn't just fuck them both up and mess up other lives.
It was the one thing that anyone with sense wouldn't want to be forced into, but here they were. This was not the kind of life they had anticipated. They had not wanted the evening after winning the war.
And Tamiko was trying to distract himself from it all.
Kosta wanted to say no.
He wanted to stop and tell Tamiko that they would be alright, but even he knew that would just be another curse for them to never be together. The price was already choking them, and the distance in the past few weeks was not doing them any favors.
