"Bye, Mum, I am going to my office. Love you." The man said as he left his house, wearing a suit with a bag hanging by his side. He put his shoes on, exiting the house, Hurriedly.
His name was John, He was a professional office worker, Working in a 9 to 5 job six days a week, although he made higher than average wage, He still lived with his mother.
"Okay, Take care sweetie." John's mother said from inside the house but John had already left the house and was near the gates of his house.
He walked out the gate, Running as he looked at the watch in his hands.
"I am fifteen minutes late, I must make it quick." He said to himself as he sprinted through the sidewalks of his local neighborhood. His office was half an hour away and he was already fifteen minutes late today.
He accidentally bumped into another person as he was sprinting through the side walks, he made the guy fall down but was too late to his office, so he didn't bother helping him get up.
"I'm sorry Bro, I am late to work." He said as he ran away. The other man cursed something under his breath as he got up.
"I cannot arrive there quickly through the main road, I need to take a detour through the hill." He said, he lived near a large and forested hill and his office was on the other side of the hill, The roads were built around the hill since it is considered a holy ground, It is said in his Religion's folk lore that this hill is the gateway to the afterlife or the resting place of deities.
"I have no other option *Sigh* Forgive me God." He said as he ran through the forest's hill. He knew the way through the hill, Thankfully, He used to come to this hill with his mother to a shrine on the top when he was still a child.
Out In the distance, a large boom sound of an explosion was heard as John stopped and looked at the direction, the ground was shaking wildly from the Explosion, He wondered what might be happening there and if he was safe here from what ever was happening.
In his short rest, a large boulder rolled from behind him from the ground shaking earthquake created from the previous explosion. It was not completely spherical but more of a random cuboid. Luckily, He looked behind himself and managed to dodge the boulder in a split second.
Unlucky, a series of spikes emerged from the ground and impaled his body. Blood poured from his body, that was dangling in a large 5 meter tall spike as he coughed blood from his mouth.
The last thing he saw was Two people, one with white feathered wing and another with black feathered wing, battling using swords. Each of their slashes, terraformed the land, an earthquake released whenever their swords parried.
Each of their stomps caused a large crater in the ground.
"What?.." Was the last thing John said before everything went black.
