Chapter 37 - Chapter 37

The safehouse was unusually quiet, a rare moment of peace amidst the chaos of their lives. Most of the team was out handling their own affairs, leaving Logan and Elsa alone for the evening.

Seated on the couch, Logan leaned back, his arm draped lazily over Elsa's shoulders. She nestled closer, her fingers tracing idle patterns along his chest.

"You've been staring at me for the past five minutes," Logan remarked, smirking.

"Maybe I like what I see," Elsa teased, tilting her head.

Logan chuckled, his free hand coming up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "Flattery will get you everywhere."

Elsa arched a brow. "Good. Then stop talking."

Before he could respond, she closed the gap, kissing him deeply.

Logan let himself sink into the moment, his grip tightening around her waist. Elsa's hands roamed up his chest, tugging at his shirt, fingertips teasing against his skin.

The heat between them built quickly. Logan shifted, pulling Elsa onto his lap as their kisses grew more urgent. The world outside faded. The tension from the past few weeks—the fights, the missions, the war looming over them—all melted away.

Just as Logan's hands slipped under Elsa's shirt—

The door swung open.

"Hey, Logan—OH HELL NO."

Everything froze.

Logan stilled. Elsa went rigid in his arms. They both turned toward the doorway.

Standing there, gaping like idiots, were Matthew, Jessica, and William.

A full five seconds of dead silence passed.

Then, Matthew's face split into a wicked grin. "Well, well, well… what do we have here?"

Jessica smirked, arms crossed. "I always knew there was something going on, but damn, you two move fast."

William blinked, then sighed. "This explains so much."

Elsa let out a muffled groan, burying her face in Logan's shoulder. "Kill me now."

Logan exhaled slowly, rubbing his temples. "Do none of you understand the concept of knocking?"

Matthew, still grinning like a devil, shrugged. "Not when it leads to top-tier entertainment."

Jessica elbowed him. "Honestly, I thought Logan was all about discipline and control. Guess Elsa's the exception."

Logan dragged a hand down his face. "I swear to God, Matthew, if you say one more word—"

Matthew, undeterred, leaned against the doorway. "I mean, were you about to—"

"OUT. NOW."

Matthew burst into laughter as Jessica pulled him away. "Fine, fine! But hey, lock the damn door next time, lovebirds."

As the door finally shut behind them, Logan let out a deep sigh.

Elsa, still red-faced, mumbled into his shoulder. "I hate everything."

Logan grumbled, "I'm going to kill Matthew first."

The room was still heavy with tension as Logan and Elsa tried to collect themselves. The laughter outside the room was an echo in Logan's mind, a constant reminder of their uninvited guests.

"This is why I can never have a private moment," Logan muttered, his hand running through his hair in frustration.

Elsa sat back on the couch, trying to compose herself, though her lips still curved into a subtle smirk. "It's not like we were exactly hiding it. I mean, we've been together for a while now."

Logan gave her a side glance. "Yeah, but did we really need an audience?"

Elsa chuckled softly. "Of course not. But you know how Matthew is."

"That's an understatement," Logan muttered.

The door creaked again, and Matthew's voice drifted in once more. "So, is the show over, or do I need to grab a camera?"

Logan groaned. "Matthew, seriously. Just knock it off."

There was a beat of silence before Matthew responded, his voice teasing but not unkind. "Alright, alright, I get it. No camera, no show... but come on, this is going to be hilarious."

Logan threw a pillow in the direction of the door. "You're unbelievable."

Elsa rolled her eyes. "He's not going to stop, is he?"

"Nope," Logan replied, his frustration giving way to a reluctant laugh. "Guess I'll have to start planning my revenge."

Elsa raised an eyebrow. "Revenge? On Matthew?"

"On everyone who saw me like this," Logan said with a grin. "I'll make sure they regret it."

Just then, Matthew's voice returned from the hallway, far too cheerful for Logan's taste. "You know, I'm already thinking of all the ways to bring this up at the worst possible time. You're going to hear about this for a while, Logan."

Elsa sighed dramatically, sitting back and looking at Logan. "If you had just kept it together for five more minutes, we could've avoided this."

Logan chuckled. "I thought we were doing fine."

Matthew chimed in one last time, this time more serious. "Alright, no more jokes. Just... are you guys good?"

Logan paused, looking at Elsa, who offered him a soft smile. "Yeah, we're good. Just, you know, a little public."

Elsa leaned her head against Logan's shoulder. "It's fine. We're both fine."

"Alright, well, I'll stop bothering you now. But just so you know... we all know. It's out there."

Logan shook his head but couldn't help a small laugh. "Yeah, I figured."

Matthew's voice softened. "Seriously, though, I'm happy for you two. Don't let this mess with you."

There was a moment of quiet, and then, just as Logan was about to say something back, Matthew added, "And Elsa? If you ever need help hiding Logan's skeletons, you know where to find me."

Logan's jaw dropped. "You're not even serious anymore, are you?"

Elsa just smiled at Logan, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I'll keep that in mind, Matthew. Thanks."

The door finally clicked shut, and the two of them were left in a strange but peaceful silence.

Logan exhaled deeply. "Well, that could've been worse."

Elsa laughed softly. "It could've been a lot worse. But hey, at least now the whole team knows."

Logan sighed, knowing that there would be no escaping the teasing, no matter how much he tried. "I'm going to hear about this until we're all old and gray, aren't I?"

Elsa smiled. "Probably. But I'm fine with that, if you are."

Logan smiled back, pulling her close. "I think I can handle it... as long as I have you."
