The feast went well enough with Rosaria, Ron and Ginny being good conversations and chilled out with me. However I did notice how Hermione Granger did get sorted to Ravenclaw which frankly was probably where she would prosper even more.
Though... There was just one tiny issue I picked up as the feast was winding down. There was no Professor Quirrell. As another woman was in charge of Weapon Infusion and Combat Arts- Which was literally Defense Against the Dark Arts reskinned.
'So is Voldemort actually dead?' I mused as I recalled Susan explaining how Lily Potter shattered the prophecy with her using a god's level of power by tapping heavily into the leylines to the point her body exploded.
But hey that wasn't my problem... As I very much doubted that even if Voldemort was alive, that he hid his Horucrux's in the same places with how different this universe was.
Once the feast was over the Gryffindors got up first along with the Ravenclaw as we headed up through the castle... Which still had those damned moving staircases I knew were going to drive me up the wall with how random they could be.
But while we were making our way to Gryffindor Tower, the Prefect's began introducing themselves.
"My name is Percy Weasley, and I am one of the Prefects assigned to Gryffindor House, if you have any questions about coursework or making it to your classes please ask." Percy announced calmly but with a hint of pride at seemingly his appointment.
Next was the Asian male who had a sword at his side and spoke with a cool tone. "My name is Xiao Yun, of the Yun clan. I am here if the other house's older members give you issues."
At both Percy and the other two ladies giving him a dull look he made a tsking noise and added on. "And... If you need advice on sword play, you may occassionally ask for advice."
There were likewise two female prefects and the blond busty one with glowing blue eyes smiled gently as she spoke kindly. "My name is Marianne Selywn, I specialize in Essence Manipulation. I even have the highest cultivation out of our Prefects!"
Xiao Yun's face twitched at those words but he just rolled his eyes as the next female prefect spoke up in a calm but friendly tone. "My name is Kanah Dofia, and I am an alchemist in training under Professor Snape. If you need any advice in alchemy and elixer creation after a couple weeks of being in the class I will help if I can."
With introductions done, the prefects continued leading us to Gryffindor's tower which took us a good five or something minutes of walking to get to.
"So this is the entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room," Percy spoke out and my lips twitched seeing the large stone door that had two massive stone lions next to the large stone door.
"The Gryffindor Common Room does have side rooms as soon as you come in to bring guests from other houses. But beyond the first point guests aren't allowed into the true sanctum of the Gryffindor House. And the other houses are the same." Percy spoke very firmly.
Xiao Yun then continued for Percy in a cool voice. " Gryffindor is the house of valor and martial strength. So our house has no riddle, changing password, or secret lever to be pulled to open up the Common Room. We stand strong and will meet any challengers with unsheathed blades."
The alchemist in Kanah Dofia gave a wry smile before she said more gently. "Now come on in so we can show you all around."
And my grade of like two hundred first-year Gryffindors came into the Common Room and I saw the side hallways leading to some rooms for meeting some non-Gryffindor friends in relative comfort and peace.
But the main Common Room? It was styled in an old English noble smoking lounge honestly. The walls were covered in dark wood, tapestries, and a great... A great many of heads and trophies of monsters were mounted on the walls with little plaques below the heads.
Though from a distance I couldn't exactly read the plaques I had a strong suspicion that those heads belonged to monsters that Gryffindor students hunted down.
But the Common Room was utterly massive, which made sense as the Gryffindor house had at least a thousand members in total with two more levels above our heads that we could see as the upper floors opened up with balconies to show the lower floors.
Marianne Selywn held out a hand towards the large staircase on the right side of the massive common room and she said. "Over on the right side is the staircase leading to the female dormitories, and on the left side of the Common Room leads to the male. Each level corresponds to the year you belong so just stay on the first floor when you get past the staircase."
Then Marianne continued with a small grin on her face. "Oh and for any boys who have... Idea's about visiting the girl's dorm? Don't bother, and don't try as the staircase has been warded by literal virgin goddesses. So woe be to anyone who tries to climb the stairs."
My lips twitched as Rosaria raised up her hand and asked with a joking tone. "What happens if we throw an annoying boy onto the stairs?"
Percy and Xiao Yun gave Rosaria looks of horror at the thought but then Marianne said with a moment of amused thought. "Well... For each step a man passes on the stairs they lose an inch of their manhood, so I am not sure if the intent actually matters. Does anyone want to try so we can see?"
The herd of first-year boys looked in horror at the cursed staircase which sat there... Menacingly. And then Percy coughed loudly and said. "Anyway, you all have your own small dorm rooms, so go ahead, find them, unpack your belongings, and come back out and relax. Tomorrow is after all going to be a very busy day."
