Chapter 419 - Story 26 Super Gene Ascension Chapter 12

After giving my email to Han Sen's mother, Luo Sulan, I was given a ride back home by Yang Manl, which I certainly appreciated as we discussed some stuff about the First Sanctuary. And I learned a good bit of information that would be useful to say the least.

For one, I learned some information on dangerous Sacred Blood creatures that the Steel Legion was willing to share in the name of their members avoiding those areas totally.

But I myself? Yeah, with some Armament Haki allowing my blows via fist and weapons to do more damage than normal first-tier Gene Warriors in the first Sanctuary.

I was confident I could fuck up a non-pack based Sacred Blood Creature. And once I maxed out or got close to maxing out my Sacred Blood geno points. I could then start hunting down Super-class geno creatures.

"Alright then, I will see you in like three days, Jake. Don't die until then!" Yang Manli finished a bit sarcastically before her car drove off, leaving me to go back inside of my apartment.

After making a nice plate of food in chicken madeira, I went and took a very long... And a relaxing shower as I washed away the stress of telling the Han family of Han Sen's death.

As I laid down in my bed listening to some music as I meditated and tried extend my 'will' into the neighboring apartments using Observation Haki to hear what they were watching through the thin walls.

My phone went off and I looked over, thinking it was going to be Luo Sulan wanting more details or something. But it was instead Mio Naruse who sent a picture of herself in her tight-fitting hunting gear that came from a beast soul.

And at the bottom of the picture was a caption saying. [Are you ready for tomorrow's hunt???]

To which I chuckled as I shifted a bit and then sent back quickly enough. [Yeah yeah, let's meet up around like 8-AM. Did you find any Mutant Creature spots we could hunt in?]

There was a pause before I blinked as she sent a picture, a map of the local area of the Black Steel Fortress and my face twitched as Mio sent another message cheekily.

[Don't you dare share this with anyone! This is family information, and I am only sharing because I want you to help me max out my geno points!]

This map... It was worth millions of Alliance Credits, worth more than a dozen Sacred Blood Beast Soul's. Because not only were there a bunch of listed locations where Mutant and Sacred Blood creatures.

There were 'death zones' where there were beasts that were 'unusually' strong! Which meant that almost certainly, there was Super class beasts listed here on the map!

Sure, some of the Super beasts would wander off, take new territory or something. But the fact that there WERE super-class beasts in that area. Meant that unless another Super class beast killed them, it was unlikely for the beasts to just die of old age or some nonsense.

"Fucking A... A thick thigh is always nice to have a hold of." I muttered with a wry smile as this map was so valuable for me that it wasn't even funny honestly.

I just took a deep breath before I sent up a thumbs up emoji, and after saving the picture so that when Mio deleted the message. It didn't take it away from my phone, I sent another message.

[I am not in the mood for 'seafood' so let's hunt down this pack of Nightshade Porcupines. They are rather slow, and although they have strong defenses and poison. We can just... Not get hit, and I have my own poison weapon to deal with their quills.]

Mio likewise sent me a thumbs up emoji in agreement before she started chit chatting with me, sending a picture of herself in her pj's, and her large breasts were showing a bit in her top, being unbuttoned as she complained that her cousins, Runeas and Rias, were over as well.

With Runeaus running the heater for some reason, as she was apparently 'cold blooded' or some nonsense. Either way, I talked with Mio for a good bit before I head off to sleep, as we had our hunt early in the morning anyway.

-

The next morning went as normally as it could. I rode the bus to the teleporters that would send me into the First Sanctuary and I listened to the new's as propaganda was blasted in my ears about humanity's endless war against the Asura race, but also the skirmishes with other races as well.

After going through the teleporter, I strolled out into the bustling early atmosphere of the Black Steel fortress and did some shopping around and sold a couple of mutant beast souls I wasn't going to use.

"Jake there you are!" I heard Mio speak with some exasperation, and I just realized we never set an exact meeting point. And inside of the Sanctuary, it's not like we could use any phones or anything.

I turned over to the busty redhead who gave me a bit of stink eye before she snorted in amusement. "Well? You ready to head out now?" She asked a bit bluntly and I nodded with my Sacred Blood ant armor appearing on my form as I wasn't going to leave the shelter before putting it on.

And Mio could see the quality in my armor, but only nodded. Probably thinking that I got it from the stores of the Steel Legion with contributions or something to that effect.

We left the shelter with us quickly heading over to the west where the primeval forests came to an end, and where the forest thinned and became more a sea of grasslands with large hills breaking up the landscape.

"We gotta hunt with efficiency here. Making to much noise will get the attention of things in the distance easily... And it's very easy to get sneak attacked in these grasslands." I spoke, though I knew that with my Observation Haki.

So long as the sneak attack wasn't something outrageous, I should be able to react to defend myself.

"Ugh! There is also a bunch of snakes here in the grasslands. So be careful of that as well." Mio warned me before we left the cover and headed into the thick grass lands but as we started heading into the grass lands, I did notice something.

The grasslands itself was clearly being eaten quickly and voraciously by the herbivore's living here so although there was patches that were ultra-thick and impossible to see through. There large patches where a herb of beasts had clearly eaten the grass down to soil as they relaxed and grazed.

And it was in those patches where we walked and following the map that Mio had taken from her family. We found exactly what we came for in the Nightshade Porcupines.

"There they are, Jake!" Mio said a bit excited at seeing our targets so soon.

The Nightshade Porcupines were large dog sized porcupines that had the usual spines across their backs and most of their bodies.

But the difference was that their spines were black and purple as they contained a deadly neurotoxin within the spines that would be injected into the victim when the spines were removed from the Nightshade Porcupine.

Though there was something to note... "There is an alpha there, probably a Sacred Blood creature." I muttered with a frown at seeing the obvious leader of the group of porcupines, due to it's much larger size and the fact that instead of black bottom to purple tipped quills.

The alpha's quills had red leading to purple, poisoned tips.

"Should we just leave Jake? They are herbivores so we aren't going to be attacked if they have sensed us?" Mio asked quietly as she kneeled beside me to inspect our would be prey.

I chewed on my inner cheek in thought. The pack of Nightshade Porcupines in this pack at least numbered up to eight with all but the alpha being Mutant tier beasts.

Those eight, I knew with my armor and my Sacred Blood tier Scorpion Spear, I could deal with... If taking a matter of time. But the alpha was a whole other game as Sacred Blood creatures weren't 'normal' at all.

They always had strength beyond common flesh's sense even here in the First Sanctuary. And could even have blatantly superpowers in some cases.

But... The Nightshade Porcupine's alpha was only the size of a small calf, so should I kill it. I would be able to eat the majority of it's flesh. Allowing me to gain a good half dozen Sacred Blood geno points at the very least!

I exhaled and then shifted a bit. I said quietly. "Let me try to kill the alpha. If I can't stab the alpha with my extremely toxic spear, we can just leave. I can flee with my Sacred Blood armor. But we can't pick off a couple of them and not expect to get the pack to attack us in a rage."

That was the thing about hunting these beasts in the Sanctuary: they followed the law of the jungle. And if some monster just straight up attacked their leader/alpha.

They were going to wait to find out what happened to said alpha as in their minds, that meant the monster was strong enough that it was confident in just killing their alpha and didn't need to bother hunting the weaker members yet.

And if their alpha was getting mauled and clearly was going to die. They would likely flee and try to find a new alpha.

"Sacred Blood geno points... Is there anything I can do to help?" Mio asked with a slight frown knowing that to be eligible to get a share of the hunt, she obviously had to help.

I nodded and with a cold smile, I said. "Yeah, you remember those water arrow guns we got from those mutant-tier crabs? Use that after it turns its face to you as I will try to get it to look towards you as it puts its quill back to me."
