Chapter 1134 - *Title Hidden* (2-in-1)

After some time, a screen made of ice appeared in front of Yamato; through this screen she could see exactly what was happening over on Kaido's side.

It was exactly the same as the last time she was sent away, only the participant and the viewer had swapped places.

At first Yamato wasn't too panicked, but when two mysterious creatures emerged from the sea, she lost her composure.

Another mysterious world.

Creatures that looked incomparably powerful.

There were two of them.

And they were opposed to each other.

What Kaido thought about it could be set aside for the moment, but Yamato had already figured it out.

There were no other beings in the sky or sea, yet this situation was eerily similar to the first time she saw Zekrom and Reshiram. In terms of size and destructive power, they were even more impressive.

There was no avoiding the reality that, although Reshiram and Zekrom are individual beings, they once belonged to one whole; whether Zekrom or Reshiram, each is only part of the power.

Before they fuse, their strength is somewhat diminished.

Yamato didn't know what Pokémon these were, nor did she understand the differences in their powers.

She only knew one thing: if this went the way she expected, the future would truly grow dark.

Right now she wants to initiate the Ice Substitute plan; if Kaido were to gain the approval of any of these Pokémon, and then further strengthen himself, then she might as well not live anymore.

"Dad! Calm down, think this through again. I think Father is strong enough already. Let him walk the rest of the path on his own!"

Strengthening oneself and weakening the enemy are not mutually exclusive. Although Yamato couldn't both strengthen herself and weaken Kaido at the same time, she could try to prevent Kaido from getting stronger.

"That whole thing was purely Father's scheme to trick me! Why don't you just beat me up instead? There's no need for this, you must be using up a lot of energy for doing this, right? I think it's still not too late to stop."

"It's not the same as before. The more my power recovers, the easier it is for me to use this power. These things aren't so difficult anymore."

"But Dad, I remember you said the power of legendaries are different. This level of power isn't a one-sided recognition, it requires mutual acknowledgement. I don't think Father will get acknowledged. You should save your energy."

Legendary Pokémon are not the same as ordinary Pokémon, there is only one of them. Especially the Tier-One legendaries, which have their own representative authority, and this power will not be separated from the Legendary Pokémon itself. At most, like Tailed Beasts, it becomes a borrowed power. [TN: Just ranking given by Chinese fandom.]

On this matter Arceus wouldn't choose to forcefully order; that wouldn't be effective.

A forcibly picked melon isn't sweet, and trying to use it to quench your thirst is wishful thinking. Eating a forcibly picked (unripe) melon might even poison you.

"You're not wrong. I'm not sure whether Kaido, with his personality, can gain the recognition of the power which is most compatible with him, but if he can't, that's one less worry for me."

As Kaido's power grew, he began searching for stronger sparring partners; ordinary opponents could no longer satisfy him, so during this period, the radiance of Judgment was often seen on Onigashima.

Each time he had to control his power which annoyed Arceus. Mechanically repeating the same thing is tedious, so it was a convenient chance to give Kaido a new target, while also whipping the somewhat lazy Yamato into shape.

If Kaido succeeded, it would mean his strength would skyrocket, but if Kaido failed, he'd likely be in a sour mood and go looking for amusement. Either way, Yamato would have to put in considerable effort to deal with it.

"The power within you is not inferior to anyone's; calling you one of the strongest wouldn't be an exaggeration. Work on it sooner rather than later. Once you master it, you probably won't have to worry so much."

The three dragons fusion is Tao Dragon, a mysterious Pokémon that exists only in legend and has never been seen by anyone.

But the three split individuals are all Tier-One legendaries, and that alone is enough to show the Tao Dragon's power.

As for why he said "probably," it's because although the Tao Dragon is a top-tier existence among Tier-One legendaries, the other Tier-One legendaries are not weak either. Maybe Kaido is uniquely gifted, and after gaining the power he'll break through to a new level.

After leaving a few words of encouragement, Arceus departed; he had other things to prepare. What remained before Yamato now was only the ice mirror recording Kaido's situation.

Yamato decided to digest Arceus's words later; at this moment all she wanted to do was pray….pray that Kaido absolutely wouldn't succeed.

"God bless me, Dad bless me, let that b*stard father fail. No, asking Dad for this seems unreliable. Forget it, anyone will do, just bless me."

At this moment, Yamato looked like a college student who is about to take their final exams but hasn't done any "prep." It doesn't matter if it's useful or not, they'll just pray first. As for whether praying to Confucius is useful for an English exam, that's a matter for after the results are out.

After a series of prayers of uncertain efficacy, Yamato looked back at Kaido on the screen.

"Worororo, it's really exciting, but what on earth did he mean?"

Kaido wiped the raindrops from his face, his eyes already brimming with craziness; this scale of battle was what he longed for.

Lightning flashed, thunder rolled and rain poured down; the coconut trees on the island where he stood were in danger from the storm, their roots almost uprooted from the ground.

But the cause of such weather was not a fight between people, it was because of that giant whale surfacing.

This was Kyogre, the Pokémon that controls the power of the sea. In the Hoenn region's legends, Kyogre is the embodiment of the sea, possessing the power to control water.

In myth it is described as a Pokémon that expands the sea by submerging the land with torrential rain and surging waves.

It can create huge rain clouds that cover the entire sky and bring torrential downpours; the current gale and rainstorm were the effects of Kyogre's power.

But that was only part of it: while there was gale and rainstorm here, on the other side the sun shone brightly, the rain clouds above had been driven away, intense sunlight beat down on a stretch of land that, though long surrounded by seawater, had now cracked and looked dry.

Elsewhere lava flowed; still-hot magma formed a sea of lava right in its wake.

This was Groudon, the Pokémon that commands the power of the land; in legend it is the embodiment of the land.

In Hoenn mythology, Groudon is called the Pokémon that creates land and expands the continents.

It possesses the immense power to disperse rain clouds and evaporate water with intense light and heat to expand the land. Where it stands, sunlight will evaporate moisture and volcanoes will erupt; wherever its feet tread, even the sea will be filled by land beneath its power.

Incidentally, it is one of the very few Tier-One legendaries that cannot fly.

In their eyes there was no Kaido; they merely looked at each other with impatience.

Unlike the ideological conflict between Reshiram and Zekrom, Kyogre and Groudon are considered the most opposing Pokémon among the Tier-One legendaries. The authorities they hold seem to be incompatible from birth.

Kyogre can relieve drought by expanding the ocean through rainfall, while Groudon can stave off floods by evaporating moisture and expanding the land; whenever the two meet, fighting is the only solution.

"Roar!"

Kyogre attacked first. With a single sweep of its broad pectoral fins through the ocean, the water rolled and formed a terrifying tsunami; massive waves rising into the sky and surging in Groudon's direction.

Watching that towering tsunami, Groudon's eyes were full of disdain. Its crimson armor began to absorb sunlight, and the spikes on its body started charging. Scorching solar energy gathered in its maw, and a blazing beam was spat toward the massive wave before it.

Before the attack even arrived, the seawater began to boil. This was Groudon's Solar Beam, its power far greater than that of an ordinary Grass-type Pokémon.

When the beam touched the seawater, vast clouds of steam instantly filled a large area of the sea, and the massive wave Kyogre had created was torn through from the center by Groudon.

Although Groudon pierced the tsunami at its center, the surrounding waves flowed past Groudon, and a great rush of seawater covered the land behind Groudon, as if trying to turn the place completely into an ocean.

Kyogre took advantage of that gap and once again raised up a massive wave, its body charging towards Groudon.

Faced with Kyogre's move, Groudon also unleashed its own power: underwater volcanoes erupted, magma surged upward, not only driving away the previous seawater but also making the ground beneath its feet thicker and larger.

It then raised both arms and met the rushing Kyogre head-on.

"An exciting battle, but what is it for?"

Kaido did not intervene in Groudon and Kyogre's battle. Although tempted, he chose to watch everything from afar, not because he feared their power, but because he did not want to carry out a sneak attack during their battle. Just then, a figure appeared beside him.

"This is another virtual dimension created by Lord Arceus; the background era is ancient Hoenn.

The blue one is called Kyogre, lord of the seas; the red one is called Groudon, lord of the land. The authority of their powers is somewhat similar to Lord Arceus's."

The familiar golden hair, while still bearing Cynthia's features. Besides overseeing the Unova Region, from among Arceus's created virtual dimension, the Hoenn region had also been entrusted to her to handle.

After all, she was only a guide here; appearance wasn't very important.

"So why did he bring me to this place? To make me fight them?"

"Lord Arceus only wants you to see this power clearly, and what is being shown now is not everything."

As the guide Cynthia appeared, the battle between Groudon and Kyogre intensified.

Groudon gathered strength in both arms, and dragged Kyogre out of the seawater before hurling it toward a distant mountain.

But Kyogre, flapping its fins in midair, drew upon the power of the sea below; those fins acted like wings, allowing it to fly.

Seeing this, Groudon grew even angrier. Several magma bombs shot toward Kyogre in the sky, while Kyogre thrashed its tail and generated pillar-sized ice spikes.

At the same time, a stone radiating seven-colored light rose from the ocean. This was a concentrative embodiment of Hoenn's natural energy; whoever could control it would be able to unleash stronger power to defeat the opponent.

To fight for ownership of this stone, the two Pokémon simultaneously launched even fiercer attacks.

Bathed in the seven-colored light, their bodies changed again.

Kyogre's body became translucent; the patterns etched on its skin bloomed with yellow light, and the alpha-symbol-shaped marking on its forehead and wing-shaped fins shone with dazzling brilliance.

Groudon underwent a similar transformation, except the symbol that manifested on its body resembled the ohm symbol.

This was their true power: the Primal Reversion form that unleashes their full potential. Some civilizations need to advance toward the future to become stronger, but some, more special ones, must advance backward, becoming stronger through archaeology.

Four orbs of light formed near Kyogre's head, filled with the sea's energy. The four beams of concentrated power of the seas eventually converged into one and shot toward Groudon.

The sea turned chaotic again with Kyogre's attack; this was an attack that gathered the power of the sea, and it was Kyogre's signature move - Origin Pulse.

Groudon, after Primal Reversion, made a similar move: rocks swirled around its body, and with a roar Groudon stomped the ground with a single foot.

The earth began to tremble under Groudon's Power. Beneath the deep sea, the continental shelf trembled with Groudon's attack; the spining rocks converged toward a single point and finally burst out of the sea like a blade.

It was also Groudon's signature move - Precipice Blades.

The power of the land turned into sharp blades, but this is not a game, and one cannot be immune to Groudon's Ground-type moves just by flying.

Under Precipice Blades, whether one stands on the ground or soars in the sky, Groudon can stab them down; this attack could be said to embody Groudon's resentment toward the very notion of "flight."

Precipice Blades and Origin Pulse hit at the same time. Both beasts fell down, but they rose up again almost simultaneously. Their nearly equal strengths made the fight intensely tangled, as if it would never end.

In the outside world, Yamato nervously squeezed the doll in her hands; the Chansey-shaped ornament had already been squashed flat. Since Cynthia appeared, she had grown even more anxious.

Especially after seeing the power displayed by Groudon and Kyogre, even her heart, ordinarily unflappable in the face of great events, began to race.

To help her better understand what she was seeing, Arceus had thoughtfully added explanatory subtitles.

What Kaido was thinking she didn't know, but just now she had already imagined terrifying scenes in which moves like "Origin Bagua" and "Precipice Bagua" were developed by Kaido and then smashed down on her.

"Please, please let those two be pacifists, then that b*stard Father will never obtain their acknowledgement."

She knew herself that the idea was unrealistic; the two Pokémon fighting continuously did not look like lovers of peace. It was at that moment that a new development appeared in the scene Yamato was watching, which she did not know whether to be happy or sad about.

As the battle grew ever more fierce, the sky cracked open, and a third Pokémon appeared before Kaido.
