"Not anymore!" Anne Sutton said. "Nathan Fawcett has been in a terrible mood lately. He snaps at me over the slightest thing, and there's something shady going on with him and Stella Shields. I'm starting to regret being with him."
This was exactly what Charles Prescott loved to hear.
After all, what bothered him most was that Anne Sutton had left him for Nathan Fawcett, only to constantly provoke him.
But now that she had humbled herself and was tearfully complaining to him about how hard things were with Nathan Fawcett, Charles Prescott's heart softened.
"It's good that you realize that! Few people can stand Nathan Fawcett's temper. Haven't you seen how he treats his own father at home? He's a total tyrant!"
Anne Sutton said, "Then what should I do? If I try to divorce him now, he'll never let me go!"
She looked at Charles Prescott, saying this on purpose.
