CHAPTER START---
Rushing through the tunnel, Ichiya is flanked by both Virgo and Aries as they approach the exit into the cavern.
"Sir Oberon doesn't need help," Virgo says. "He's moving to end the fight. We should assist Jura."
"You heard the lady!" Ichiya commands the dozen wizards following behind them. "Focus on helping Jura. Knock everyone out, then we'll capture them properly. Keep your distance from Rabol and Oberon's fight."
"Yes, Sir Ichiya!"
They enter the main cavern and raise their weapons, with Ichiya unarmed, looking around while his people open fire.
To the far left, he sees Oberon and Rabol fighting, with the latter on the ground, releasing a web of lightning arcs toward the ceiling. Oberon dances above, weaving between the arcs while fighting back and forming his plan.
In the middle of the cavern is the mostly ruined fortress, boasting large cubes of Iron Rock and having entire sections exploded into rubble. To the far right, he sees Jura pinned behind a thick Iron Rock wall, constantly under fire while sieging the fortress.
"Give Jura covering fire, if he has room to move, he'll take down the rest of them!" Ichiya's people rush into action, opening fire on the fortress's remaining vantage points and the few people with enough Magic Energy to continue flying.
Jura peeks out from behind his cover when the onslaught of ranged attacks lessens, seeing Blue Pegasus now assaulting the fortress to ease the pressure on him. "Good, now we can—"
A thunderous explosion echoes through the cavern, shaking the mountain and destroying part of the fortress. It sends quakes through the battlefield, causing many people to fall over, but Jura and Ichiya stand their ground, looking over to Oberon.
There, they see him standing with both feet on Rabol's face, the man having been pushed a few feet into the stone ground with his skull nearly split in two. His hand weakly reaches up to grab Oberon, but before he could fully extend it, his transformation drops.
He reverts to his human form, not carrying over the damage of a split skull, but thoroughly exhausted, surrounded by the burning red blood of his other form.
The battlefield is silent as Oberon floats away from the unconscious man, catching his breath as most of his Magic Energy was used not only to constantly heal, but also to bypass Rabol's absurdly powerful transformation.
"Second only to Wizard Saint Wolfheim's Apocalypse Beast Transformation Magic," Oberon says as he takes long and deep breaths. "You could have been an amazing ally…"
As he hovers above the man and the cavern finally stops shaking, the people around them stare at him in awe and terror.
Looking at the form of this ten-year-old boy, their eyes are drawn to the coat on his back. A reminder that he is an S-Class Wizard of Fairy Tail, and the man crushed into the floor serves as a faithful reminder to them all.
That, regardless of how innocent or harmless fairies appear, they are still monsters…
"What's that?" Oberon mutters as bright yellow angular lines appear on Rabol's body, burning away all of his clothes before his chest splits open and a bulbous yellow eye bursts out of him.
Oberon flies to the side as a wave of ravenous Magic Energy washes over everyone else in the cavern, and the eye glows brighter. Then, the entire cavern trembles, and the man's body teleports away.
Oberon turns to Jura and Ichiya. "He disappeared!" he yells while flying over to them.
"Is this shaking from you?"
"No, I don't kn—"
"Attack!" one of the enemy captains yells. "We can't lose now with it on our side!"
Jura, Ichiya, and Oberon see the enemies regroup to charge them, their morale bolstered by whatever was happening.
"How much Magic Energy do you two have?" Ichiya asks.
"I only use a quarter to take down most of them," Jura says.
"I can still fight, too."
"Good," Ichiya says. "I sense something big coming from within the fortress. So no matter what happens, save your power for that. Let us deal with these lesser threats."
Jura and Oberon share a look of agreement as Ichiya steps forward, staring down the dozens of enemies ahead of him.
But before he can activate any Magic, the entire fortress erupts into dust and debris, scattering the enemies and rubble all around. Pieces of stone are pelted against the cavern walls and people, embedding themselves in anything they hit.
Most of the enemy Mages are able to protect themselves, some are gravely injured. Oberon waves his hand, forming a Light Barrier around his allies. One of the Blue Pegasus Wizards uses Wind Magic to clear the dust cloud as Oberon drops the Light Barrier.
And they're all horrified and disgusted by what they see. Standing on the ruins atop the fortress, is a giant spider. Black with yellow markings across its body, as large as the Fairy Tail guildhall. Its mouth is open to reveal a barbed, spiked tongue with four pincers clicking and flexing as if shoveling food into its face. But it has no eyes on its head.
Instead, Rabol is sunken waist deep into the top of its head, both his eyes glowing along with the large yellow eye protruding from his torso. He flexes his arms and fingers, and the spider's giant legs respond instantly, showing off his perfect control of the monster.
"That's just too ugly," Ichiya says.
Rabol looks around, smiling up at the cavern. "Thank you, Jura. You've made the perfect battlefield for my new merged form. What better place to fight than in my den?"
Jura frowns, folding his arms across his chest. "This is your tomb, nothing more."
Rabol rolls the eyes on his head, but the one on his torso stays focused on them. "Big words from the man depending on the child to do the heavy lifting."
"There are no S-Class children," Oberon says as he floats forward.
"Says the exception."
"Well, there is only space at the summit for one. And I'll tell you now, being a spider doesn't mean you can climb up there."
"We'll see about that," Rabol flexes his fingers as his new body crouches lower, ready to pounce.
The air grows tense, but Oberon rushes forward, not wanting the man to get too familiar with his new form. Rabol meets him in the air, swinging one of his long legs at the boy, but Oberon alters gravity to throw the man to the far left, back to where they were first fighting.
Jura immediately rushes off to help him, launching a volley of hardened Earth Spears at the spider, barely scratching the armored carapace.
While in mid-air, Rabol fires a web from the base of his abdomen, attaching it to the ceiling and pulling himself upward.
'Webs from his butt just like a normal spider,' Oberon thinks before firing a Light Beam, which doesn't even damage the webs. He immediately changes his plan and hits the ceiling, breaking it away and causing Rabol to fall.
Jura catches up to them and stops in place below Oberon, crouching and placing both palms on the ground.
"Great Prayer of the Earth: Iron Rock Mudra!"
As Rabol is falling, a massive Magic Circle appears on the wall beside him, and from it two large hands of absurdly reinforced stone emerge. They clap him between them, causing a shockwave to flow through the cavern as they shatter.
Rabol is dazed, with many parts of his carapace cracked, falling to the ground while Jura wipes with sweat from his brow. "That's the first time someone has broken that construct. Those hands were harder than steel."
Oberon raises both hands, aiming his palms at the monstrous form a football field ahead of them, and increases the gravity on Rabol.
As the man is getting up, he's crushed under his own weight. Oberon grits his teeth as Rabol begins breaking apart the stone below him to cushion the pressure, but Jura quickly places his hands on the ground and flows Magic Energy into it.
The earth below Rabol becomes hard as steel, causing him to be pressed against it, allowing them to use both their Magics to squish him like a bug.
"Most people would be dead by now. How are his organs still functioning under almost a hundred times the gravity?"
"He is no longer a person, more of a monster," Jura says. "Do you have anything to destroy him?"
"One, but I need time, and I'll be vulnerable while I prepare it since it's new…"
"You'll have it," Ichiya says as he arrives beside them, back turned to them while staring down a detachment of enemies that tried to reach his friends. "I trust both of you to handle that thing, and I swear, on my name, Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuiki The Third, nothing shall harm you as you prepare!"
