*Rumble*
Kai sat, seatbelt buckled, head down between his knees and arms bracing the seat in front of him.
His heart was racing and his back was covered in cold sweat. "Not today, not today, I can't die today." He whispered while the plane that he was on rattled and shook harder with each passing moment.
They had lost one engine when the plane was hit by lightning as they were flying through the clouds on entry and the planes systems had blipped out for a few seconds before the pilot got it rebooted but in that time they had started to free fall as the plane glided towards the ground below.
luckily the planes pilot was skilled and he managed to get the plane to the runway safely.
It hopped as the plane touched down, the landing being just a bit to hard and fast, and as the landing gear hit the runway the second time it snapped forcing it up and into the cabin right where Kai was sitting killing him instantly.

"Ahhhhhhh!" Kai shouted, looking around frantically in the darkness.
"Ugh, damn that's loud! why do you have to do that." A voice not too dissimilar from his own replied.
"Huh? aren't I dead? where am I?" Kai asked calming down a little.
"Yeah your dead, sucks I know. We always die the same way." The voice replied again.
"What about my family?" Kai asked scrunching his brows.
"What about them? Oh, they'll be fine! don't worry about them." The voice jokingly supplied.
"How can I not? I just died for fuck sake!" Kai exploded.
The voice let out a chuckle. "Good point! Hold on, lemme get the lights."
*Clap clap!*
Suddenly there was light and Kai found himself sitting in a conference room looking at a slightly older version of himself wearing a chequered business suit.
"Ah, this is great! I've never got to meet another me before today." The slightly older Kai grinned widely and continued. " Usually I have to just send them off to a new world with a note and some gifts. But you, your special..."
He paused before breaking out into laughter.
"Well, maybe not special but your destination is." He said while staring at Kai with a mirthful smile on his face.
Kai didn't really give a fuck about what this guy was saying. but, it had to be said he was intrigued, the very notion that he had a higher God like figure that was him but not him, and that this version of "him" seems to have made it his mission to collect and reincarnate other version of himself and send them other worlds was a ludicrous idea.
And yet here he was.
"HAHAHA! Yes! That's what I'm talking about. That's what I love about me. The ability to remain calm and break down the most important components of what's going on around us. Even in distress. I myself have thrived multiple times in adversity and desperation, coming out much better for it. If I hadn't, I wouldn't be where I am today that's for sure." The older version of Kai said as he threw his head back in raucous laughter.
"Your a fucking madman." Kai said as he watched himself losing his shit. But this only caused him to laugh harder.

"Are you not done yet!" Kai finally exploded, he was tired of listening to this guys laughter.
"Sorry, sorry, it's just been awhile since I had such a great laugh." Old Kai said wiping a tear from his eye. He waved his hand and kai was forcefully brought to a calm state. "Alright, well moving on."
Kai looked at himself and popped the question. "Yes, thank you. So where am I going that I get to meet my great and powerful self today that the others didn't get to meet."
"Okay, so. All my other versions ended up in worlds of power, meaning that there was a system to ascension in one way or another. However the world I am sending you doesn't have a way for human ascendancy, you can still live a very long life with enough talent but the human power scaling is outclassed by the other beings of this world." Old Kai said, spreading his hands out in a what-can-you-do gesture.
"Okay I get it, so what is this world?" Kai asked again.
"Pokémon."

"Right... I see, so what are the perks you are giving me?" Asked Kai, a faint twitch making its way to his lips.
"Well obviously, I'll get you a starter of your choice. And then there would be the whole Sha-bam with aura and physic potential, natural affinities and all the information you'll need to steamroll everything. Because hey, I do this shit to make my lifes fun and easygoing not to watch myself suffer. heck, we all already died once so the shit part of our lives is over." Old Kai stated with the expression of a benevolent and just man.
Meanwhile he was subtly studying this version of himself with a keen eye.
Kai, who had paused in thought, asked. "Can you just read my mind? I feel like we will be here all day otherwise."
Old Kai Laughed, he nodded and in that instant Kai felt like everything he was or would be had been opened to the veiw of his older self, it was unnerving and quite frankly terrifying. "Okay no worries about anything, the highest potential on bonding is an easy fix for me as is the time and region. Still, Flannery eh? Forgot we used to have a crush on her hahaha red hair is hot, anyway no big, and the unlimited pokéfood is a great idea, I totally would of forgotten about that one! Ohh! I'll throw in a bunch of other stuff you haven't thought of too as freebies."
"Alright then, your all set so off you go! Enjoy your new life and forget about the rest, your family will be fine and dandy so just focus on that place." The God Kai waves with a smile.
And with all the grace of a baseball to the nuts Kai felt himself pulled down a tunnel at blistering speed, stars blurred and colours merged into an abhorrent kaleidoscope and Kai soon found himself losing consciousness.
