The next day, at six in the morning, Michelle Quinn was driving. Following Nina Walsh's instructions, she entered a destination into the GPS: 'Northgate Women's Prison'.
The relative Nina was going to see today was in that very prison.
Around nine o'clock, Nina met the person she was looking for in the visitation room—her Third Aunt.
"So early in the morning, I was wondering who wanted to see me. Turns out it's you, kiddo."
Her Third Aunt was wearing a blue prison uniform, sleeves rolled up, revealing a tattoo of a Buddha on a lotus flower on her arm.
Nina managed a slight smile. "Third Aunt, how have you been lately?"
Her Third Aunt scratched her short hair and said casually, "Same old, same old. Except the cafeteria stopped giving out chocolate. Doesn't matter how much work you do, they won't give you any. It's pissing me off. I'm thinking of writing a letter to the higher-ups to complain."
