Chapter 481 - Chapter 481: Monstrous Trust

"HE'S BEFRIENDING WHAT!?"

"THIS CAN'T STAND!! IS HE TRYING TO BE A TRAITOR!?"

"THINK OF THE CHILDREN!! HE'LL SICK IT ONTO US!!"

Outcry was made when people found the child with one of the Basilisks, training it to walk with its blindfold on, letting it see the darker shades of the environment when it looked through it. Stones were tossed at the creature, prompting Harvard to step in. When his mother and father came to see what was going on, the people began to riot. Their complaints were loud, and such words would upset the Basilisk, having its head creek down in dismay. Despite this, Harvard would pet the beast, a way to let it know it is not at fault. Animosity rose with each passing second the boy tended to the monsters, to a point where even the King had to intervene. He'd make his way into the Helsing's house, where he wants to see with his own eyes what was the child doing.

As Harvard was reminiscing, he'd cast a spell, a sigil. A Seal to bind around the Beldam and restrain her, a ring to encircle around. As he did, he'd finally see the aroma's source, peering over to see the toys quickly being melted into it. A cauldron bubbling with a red substance, bones acting as pestles to ground up anything inside. As the toys enter inside it, the remains would seep into it, growing the toys, granting them additional properties. Teddy bears would have spider-like limbs to trail up the cauldron and speed through the new environment. Robots would have an organic heart to let them pass energy, and conversely, channel a new style of magic. Dolls entering in would usually have the faces of the deceased children, carrying their last moments, a psychological damage onto Harvard, as the new army came in such waves. Each robot produced would begin to take advantage of the restaurant, channeling the energy into it, taking over the area's statues and letting them stretch out. The Beldam would leap back and crawl across the rooftop, watching Banshee's works be turned against its summoner. Screeches would be blasted down, pushing Harvard back as an auditory wall, a vibration to keep away, as the others would invade in different fronts.

Harvard would try to shoot down the statues with Lemegeton, yet such attacks would be moot as the room would regrow it. "Room Magic..." He'd mumble, taking note of its effect. Once the statues fell, a sigil was casted, summoning the Lesser Monsters of Yata and Neko to create two atmospheres in order to keep them in the same distance. As he'd watch the two spheres be made, the toys either being pushed back by the massive bullet-like dome that trailed across the entire air around them, the toys alternated for a different move, where the Robots would set the Room up and open the floor beneath them, more statues of the serpents rising out to attack the lesser beasts when they aren't looking. Harvard would move in front and cast a Wall, blocking the strike altogether, letting it fall over to act as the new terrain. As they'd keep spamming such moves, the boy recognized that he was going to lose more and more energy if he kept using the same spell. As a result, he'd resort to de-spelling the magic in the stones instead, letting it scatter and blast down as projectiles along with the bullets, aiming for the hearts. The Teddy bears would take the blow instead, as more toys would be produced by the Cauldron.

Rubix Cubes would become sentient and be given the same attachment, only now being able to shift and switch the room up like Harvard's monsters, forcing his head to turn backwards and not look directly at what was coming next. Yo-Yo's, Silly String, and sticky hands would converge, acting as one whole humanoid made entirely up of said string, letting it extend parts of itself to reach through the new holes and weave around to attack the Lesser Monsters, slowly disabling the barrier. Wind-Up toys would act as a support, winding themselves up to its maximum and increasing the speed of every unit in the Beldam's army as long as it wound down, extending to even their magic. It was getting overwhelming, and because he already spent Deus Ex, Harvard's options were becoming more and more limited.

When he recalled back his memory, he would see the King and his men entering into Harvard's room, being face to face with what they saw. Shock befall unto them as they'd see him staring straight into the Basilisk's eyes, no blindfold in sight. The King demanded for medical assistance, shouting for everyone outside that he was going to die, yet as the King turned back...

Harvard would look towards him, smiling, waving to him as if nothing happened.

His mind would be open as he'd find the answer, a voice echoing within it. "So... you trusted monsters even before you held the deck? I can't help but wonder if you are special or insane..." the voice would tease, as the child's heart began to pound. "Therefore... you should trust me much the same. You should let me out. You should let me take care of what's going on. You are much too weak for this." Taunts and teases, trying to pry him out.

Whatever the voice said, however, would make the child smile, as he'd understand what to do. "...I can't lose my legs if I don't use Fusion with it, do I...?" He'd mumble, though such words would be caught by the Beldam, immediately retaliating in order to try and stop Harvard from having a potential edge. The two Lesser Monsters focused their strength on the barrier, pushing her back. Outraged, she'd command the String Toy to grab and drag the two out from the scattered holes, dragging the barrier with it, as the Beldam aimed for a quick slash against his head.

"A simple question. You really should start thinking more critically when I get involved."

SHIKK!!!

Direct hit, a cleave that split his skull in two, his head opening like a mouth, fangs being born out to bite at the Beldam's hand, as it quickly regenerates. "Now then, let me in. Let me in this world. Let me wreck havoc upon our name. Let me show to you what a Monster should really be. Let me show you what you must become..."

A card was cast, flying up and played onto his wound, as he'd be pushed away, smiling. "Evo.... Lution..." Harvard bellowed.

The lights flicker as he'd change. His smile breaks as his body morphs. His jaw now hangs as his grin is ear to ear, eyeless, a minute light that peers through the hollow holes.

The Nuckelavee has returned.
