Chapter 483 - Chapter 483: The Beldam's Wish

"You see it, right?"

Harvard asked, his mind locked away as the Nuckelavee piloted his body. The beast growled as it kept the pressure up. The Beldam would try to weaponize her toys once more, but no matter what she did, both of them would attack simultaneously. The Humanoid would grab ahold of her leg and use her as a club to swing down, whilst the Horse would be mauled and tossed aside. At this point, she'd try to get a brief glimpse of what the two were trying, tracking their movements, seeing their patterns, trying to observe their eyes and how they were being precise. Every so often she'd see what they'd see, their eyes glanced against one another.

"She's catching on!"

A request through the boy's mind, as the creature becomes unwieldy again, with both parts attaching themselves and tackling the Beldam across, forcing her to grab the beast by the arms and twist them, pushing him into the wall, scraping them across such stonework. She would be able to pin the beast down and grip at its neck, trying to tear the head off from its stump. As she did, she'd see a card leak out from one of the eyes, a glimpse that'd catch her off guard, squeezing her grip and tearing the flesh from the inside. She'd see the body go limp, but she knew better.

She knew better than to trust a trickster.

WHAM!!!

A double punch, aimed around the sides of her temple, bashing her mind and forcing her to reel back, letting her get off of the Nuckelavee in the process. The illusion she was placed in shattered as soon as it arrived, with a second implanted. As she'd try to attack back and fight through it, however, she'd be met with her. A woman, once naive and egocentric, now aged and worn, but still kept such a grin on her face. A woman that the Beldam recognized, as the land shifted into a hospital bed. Beeping lights came as the woman had her final moments.

Despite it being a trick, a ploy on her perception to make her see and feel what she wanted to, she can't help but take this very sight in. When it shattered again by a grab and dislocation on one of her arms, forcing the beast to kneel down and snatch it, her anger boiled over again. She'd try to take advantage, but mines were placed out, exploding the area, as a golden light catches her eyes again. Another trick, another distraction away. Her mind would reminisce and be reminded of the battered, burnt self, after being tortured by the woman, taken in to an abandoned building far, far off into the hills. She repaired herself day in and day out, replacing parts, training herself, all for the day to kill the woman before her.

The day when she kills Limosa Helsing.

KA-BOOM!!!!

Another explosion, shattering her away from such a sight. A card was visible on each eye, a sign that the Card Magician lives. Whilst the Nuckelavee was pushing through and rending her army useless, Harvard's spells were casted in order to ensure she doesn't bring another army before them, as the Devil of the Sea roars in its surefire victory. She'd try to tear off the mirrors that was her eyes, lunging ahead and raising as much as possible to counter their tactics, but the Nuckelavee merely reached into and tore out its eyes, slamming them back into the Beldam's face, forcing her to undergo Illusion again. Her mind went back to that dark place, up until she'd see a man. Tall, suit and tie, a cane with a claw acting as the base. She'd camp in the shadows, tracking the man. Trailing him across the building, her claws sharpened, as she'd try to attack him from behind. Even though she remained silent, the man was quick to turn his head and spot her. Eye contact was made, but as she stared towards his, expecting fear, she was only met with power. Control. A will unshaken. She'd lower her hand, staring back in disdain. She hated those eyes.

The eyes of the one that looks down in that same pride.

He didn't raise his voice, nor did he try to question her actions. All he did, was provide an offer. He could see the hatred in the Beldam's face, animosity lathered across her teeth. She wanted revenge, and he was willing to provide it.

KRACC!!!

A hook across the beast, finally tearing off one of the mouths, letting it clank against the ruined earth, as more pedestals of Banshee emerged. The two monsters stared at one another, the very gaze she remembered the years prior. The gaze that she hated. She'd raise her body up, clawing the eyes away and regrowing her mirrored ones. The Nuckelavee smiled as it regenerated its own. They were at a standstill. They weren't able to get any clear openings, with the Devil's regeneration and the Witch's durability. Neither were willing to budge, and why should they?

They could keep trying to kill each other for ages, nothing would change.

The Beldam would resort to her Final Gambit, the Toys quickly parting, as the Nuckelavee would prepare to split if such an attack proved too great. Her hands clapped as something would appear, a hand that was growing out, letting it invade into her body, turning her into an amalgamation, two pairs of arms being made, as well as another head to keep watch. Its new eyes were non-existent, as it would sit down on the floor. She'd charge ahead, tossing this new massive toy, but the Nuckelavee swatted it away, aiming to grab for another one of her jaws. As it did, the eyes disappeared. The mirrored glass was gone.

Another pair was made on the new toy. She traded her consciousness between her real body and the newly constructed one.

KRACC!!!

Finally, a hit against the Devil of the Sea, a punch at the back of its head, letting it stumble as the Beldam's body grows limp, the new one staring out in her place.

Toy Magic: Rock and Sock.
