Inside the study of Sedona City's castle, Lucas was reviewing government affairs.
Bang!!!
The study door was violently pushed open, and Freya dashed inside.
"What are you doing?" Mina's knife instantly fell into her hand. Her eyes stared vigilantly at the wolf-eared girl, fully prepared to strike at the slightest sign of trouble.
"Lucy fainted!" Freya cried out, resting her hands on her knees and panting heavily.
"Where is she?" Lucas's expression changed slightly. He immediately stood up and headed for the door.
"They're carrying her here right now," Freya quickly replied. She had sprinted the whole way to inform Lucas ahead of time.
"What happened?" Lucas asked in a deep voice, taking large strides outside.
His face didn't look too good. He wondered: Did the remnants of the Fourth Prince's forces attack Lucy and the others?
"I don't know why. We were halfway through walking when Lucy suddenly collapsed," Freya said, shaking her head.
After finishing the Summer and Autumn Fashion Show, Lucy had suddenly collapsed on their way back to the castle, giving everyone a massive fright.
"Suddenly collapsed?" Lucas frowned. He glanced at Freya, who was drenched in sweat while wearing heavy leather armor, and a suspicion formed in his mind.
Tap, tap, tap...
In the backyard hall, Lucas's group of three ran into Jones, who was carrying Lucy on her back.
"Master, Lucy suddenly fainted! What do we do now?" Annie shouted anxiously.
"Put her down, put her down," Lucas said hastily. He reached out, took Lucy, and laid her on a nearby table.
"Master, what's wrong with Lucy?" Nicole's face was pale, the hair on her forehead plastered together with sweat.
"Everyone spread out, don't crowd around! Give Lucy some space," Lucas immediately shouted. Sweeping his gaze over everyone's current state, he instantly knew what was going on.
"Right, everyone spread out," Catherine quickly echoed.
"Mina, go make a cup of glucose water. Make sure it's cool," Lucas instructed.
"Yes." Mina immediately ran off.
"Go fetch a few buckets of cold water," Lucas turned and ordered a maid standing nearby. "And bring some towels."
"Yes." The maid hurried off.
"Lucas, do you know why Lucy fainted?" Dahlia asked anxiously.
"Lucy is suffering from heatstroke," Lucas sighed. This was his oversight; he had forgotten about the current weather.
"Heatstroke?" Jones's face turned cold as she asked in a low voice, "Is it a type of poison?"
"It's not poison," Lucas said, rolling his eyes. "It just means she sweated too much and her body is dehydrated. That causes dizziness and fainting, and in severe cases, it can lead to death."
Even back on Earth, the number of people who died from heatstroke every year was not small. This was something he had to guard against.
"Sweating too much is actually that serious? It can even kill people," Helen said in astonishment. She immediately committed this to memory, planning to teach it to her students at the school tomorrow.
"Lord Lucas, then Lucy will be alright, won't she?" Elisa cried out anxiously.
"She's fine. Lucy just has a mild case of heatstroke," Lucas said. It would only be troublesome if it were severe.
"That's good." Annie and the others breathed a sigh of relief. They implicitly trusted Lucas's words.
"During the fashion show, did you guys not drink any water at all?" Lucas asked, glancing around the group.
"Yeah, everyone was afraid something would go wrong, so we forgot to drink," Annie said with a bitter face.
"It's very hot, isn't it?" Lucas sighed.
"It's way too hot. This damn weather," Helen chimed in. Her rabbit ears were drooping from the heat, and sweat poured continuously down her neck.
"I can't take it anymore." The mermaid, Florence, letting her arms hang limp, stuck her tongue out and dragged herself over to a chair to sit down.
"Florence, you didn't leave the show early just because you found the weather too hot, did you?" Annie suddenly spoke up.
"O-Of course not," Florence denied, her face turning red.
Tap, tap, tap...
At that moment, the maid returned carrying buckets of water and towels, bringing the group's discussion to a halt.
"Use the cold water to cool Lucy down," Lucas instructed.
"I'll do it." Nicole took the bucket and immediately got to work.
Just then, Mina hurried over holding a cup. "Master, the glucose water is here," She said softly.
"Feed it to Lucy," Lucas continued.
"I'll do it." Jones took the cup, propped Lucy up, and began to feed her.
Cough, cough, cough... Lucy choked and woke up after only two sips.
She looked weakly at the crowd. "What... What happened to me?"
"You're fine. Just drink more water and you'll be okay. Also, wear fewer layers of clothing," Lucas said gently.
"..." Hearing this, a blush crept up Lucy's cheeks; she had clearly misunderstood something.
"Lucy, you suffered from heatstroke," Catherine said with concern.
"Heatstroke?" Lucy's face was full of confusion. It wasn't until Catherine and the others explained it to her that she finally understood.
"I'll go make something for everyone to drink." Nicole wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead.
"I think everyone should take a bath first, and then change into summer clothes," Lucas suggested softly.
He was currently wearing a short-sleeved shirt and pants. If there weren't so many girls inside the castle walls, he would have just gone shirtless. He never expected the summers here to be this hot.
"Right, let's go change our clothes too!" Annie shouted happily. She had wanted to change her clothes ever since she was watching the fashion show.
"Are there outfits for me too?" Catherine stole a glance at Lucas.
"There are outfits for everyone," Nicole said softly.
Lucas gently reminded them, "Also, remember to drink plenty of water to avoid getting heatstroke again."
"Okay," everyone replied in unison.
"Lucy, get plenty of rest and drink a couple more cups of glucose water. Make sure to change your clothes too," Lucas instructed Lucy, turning his head toward her.
"Mhm," Lucy replied softly.
Everyone dispersed. They had sweated too much, and wearing damp clothes was incredibly uncomfortable.
"Let's go to study." Lucas led Mina back toward his study.
Creak…
As soon as Lucas sat down, he picked up a pen and started writing. It had just occurred to him that heatstroke was also a major problem.
After more than half an hour, he compiled a basic guide on the symptoms of heatstroke and how to prevent it.
"Mina, send someone to deliver this document to the newspaper office. Have Emma organize it, and publish it in tomorrow's paper," Lucas ordered.
"Understood," Mina replied.
