"This..." Edward Anderson looked at Bella Scott, wondering how to answer Jessica.
Bella Scott averted her gaze, unsure how to respond to the child's question. She couldn't possibly tell her that she and Edward weren't husband and wife, and that's why they couldn't live together, could she?
Yet, she and Edward happened to be the mother and father of the twins.
In the end, it was Cindy who saved the situation: "Sis, that's none of your business. What you need to do is study hard and don't cause any trouble for mom and dad."
Jessica Scott glared at Cindy, thinking he was not being helpful at all. Wasn't she just trying to bring her mom and dad together?
"It's ten o'clock already, you two should turn off the lights and go to bed. And Jessica, I must warn you, since you're the older child, you cannot wet the bed—"
"Mom, please! Last time, I didn't wet the bed; I just sweated a lot because it was too hot." Jessica Scott firmly denied ever doing something as silly as wetting the bed.
