Saim and Hamid exchanged worried glances.
"We don't have much time. Come with us."
One of the men stepped forward impatiently and reached for Aiman's wrist.
Aleena immediately moved between them.
"Don't touch my friend!"
A friendship shouldn't be something that only exists when it's convenient.
Aleena had never been someone who openly expressed her emotions. But today, when Aiman was truly in trouble, she realized something.
Aleena was standing in front of her like a wallāa shield protecting herādespite being a girl herself.
Friendship isn't just liking and commenting on each other's social media posts or sending each other reels.
Friendship isn't simply spending movie nights together, reading comics and novels, or sending each other PDFs.
Friendship isn't just going out together, keeping each other company, or chasing away each other's boredom.
Friendship is when you're in trouble, when you're hurting, when you're forced to make a difficult decision, and there is no one beside youā
yet someone still stands in front of you.
Someone willing to take a stand for you.
Someone willing to fight the world for you.
Someone who fights not for anything else, but simply for you.
That is a friend.
That is friendship.
And these days, genuine friendship is rare.
You only discover who your true friends are in difficult times. Otherwise, everyone is a friend when life is easy.
"We have orders."
One of the men spoke harshly.
Saim immediately stepped in front of Aleena.
"What do you mean, you have orders?"
"Move aside."
Hamid snapped, pushing the man who had stepped forward back by the chest.
"We're not leaving without the woman."
When one of the men spoke again, the four of them exchanged worried looks.
What kind of place had they gotten themselves into?
They all knew very well that they weren't standing anywhere safe.
That was why Saim had been uneasy from the moment they arrived.
The things happening in this place were normal here. And if a girl had come to a place like this, people automatically assumed she couldn't possibly belong to a respectable family.
Sometimes, a person knowingly walks themselves into a place of humiliation.
And this was exactly that kind of place.
Aiman's hands and feet had gone cold with fear.
She had never even imagined in her wildest dreams that she would have to face a situation like this.
She had only come here because she wanted to see a new worldāsomething she had heard so much about.
"I-I don't want to go anywhere. I don't want to meet anyone."
Aiman finally managed to control her trembling body and shouted.
"You'll have to meet him. Our boss isn't used to hearing no."
As he spoke, the man in front suddenly grabbed Hamid's handāthe same hand that had been pressed against his chestāand twisted it violently behind his back.
He did it with frightening speed.
These men were professionally trained, while saim and hamid were ordinary men. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't match them.
hamid tried to strike back with his other hand, but the man caught that one too and twisted it behind his back.
He twisted it so brutally that hamid let out a loud cry of pain.
The sound shook both Aleena and Aiman.
Aiman went completely numb from fear. Her mind seemed to stop functioning.
But Aleena remained alert.
She still refused to move away from in front of Hafsa.
For a moment, Saim was so terrified by what he was witnessing that he instinctively took a step back.
Then his eyes fell on Aiman and Aleena.
He couldn't retreat.
"Let him go!"
saim shouted furiously before lunging toward the man who was holding hamid's arms.
But before he could even reach him, another one of the trained men grabbed saim by the neck and slammed him against the wall with such force that it looked as though he weighed nothing.
Within seconds, Aiman and Aleena watched helplessly as Saim collapsed to the floor.
And that was the moment Aiman finally felt genuine fear.
"Aleenaā¦"
Aiman immediately moved behind her, clinging to her as though hiding behind her could somehow protect her.
"Alright."
Aleena's voice remained surprisingly calm.
"But first, tell me who your boss is. Then I'll take my friend with me myself."
Her phone was still in her hand.
While staring directly into the men's eyes, she was also typing rapidly on her phone.
She was messaging her brother.
Even in such a heated and dangerous situation, Aleena spoke with remarkable composure.
There wasn't even the slightest trace of fear on her face.
Inside, she was terrified too.
But she refused to let it show.
Not even the slightest tremor entered her voice.
Being able to hide your emotions and keep fear from appearing on your face is a sign of mental strength.
And Aleena had that strength.
"Now come with us, ma'am. We shouldn't keep Sir waiting any longer."
One of the men answered, looking directly at Aiman.
Despite being in pain, Saim tried to get back up.
But before he could reach Aleena and Aiman, one of the men grabbed him with both arms and held him firmly.
The man was so strong that even with all his strength, Saim couldn't break free.
"I don't want to meet your boss. Tell him that!"
Aiman screamed at the top of her lungs.
But who was going to listen to her?
"We're talking here."
Aleena raised one hand in a stopping gesture when the men started moving toward Aiman.
Despite being a girl, there was such authority, steadiness, and command in her voice that the men standing before her were forced to listen.
In a situation like this, most girls would have been crying, screaming, or begging.
But Aleena wasn't doing any of those things.
"First, tell me why he wants to meet my friend."
"It's not our job to question our boss."
The man answered coldly.
"We were ordered to bring her, and that's exactly what we're going to do. Now move aside."
Saim and Hamid stood there helplessly.
Both were terrified of what might happen next.
They couldn't even call for help.
The place was already filled with deafening noise.
It was an underground nightclub.
Violence and death were not unusual there.
This was not a place for decent people.
"Alrightā¦"
Aleena was trying to buy as much time as she could.
She needed to keep them talking for as long as possible.
Hopefully, Her brother would arrive.
She didn't know whether he had read her message or not.
But the world survives on hope.
Aleena had barely begun to speak when one of the men abruptly cut her off.
"We don't have time for your useless nonsense. Take the girl."
The moment he gave the order, the man beside him grabbed Aleena's hand in a brutal grip and shoved her violently toward the window.
Her shoulder slammed hard against the nearby window.
A sharp cry escaped her lips from the sudden pain.
Before they could move any further, one of the goons immediately grabbed Aiman and threw her over his shoulder. Saim and Hamid shouted at them to let her go. Both of them tried to fight back, but unfortunately, they were unable to free themselves from the men who had tightly restrained both their hands.
Saim and Hamid struggled with all their strength, desperately trying to break free, but the goons held them firmly.
Aiman struggled as well, trying with all her strength to free herself. Her delicate body was being dragged roughly, and her shoulder scraped against the window, causing her pain. Despite the pain, she continued struggling and desperately tried to save herself.
"Leave Aiman!" Aleena shouted, standing near the door.
But the goons had surrounded the area, making it impossible for anyone to get outside without being noticed.
In a sudden burst of desperation, Aleena pushed one of the men backward and tried to move toward Aiman. but the guard push her back For three or four moments, everything seemed to happen in the blink of an eye.
But those few seconds felt like centuries to Aleena.
For the first time in her life, a terrifying thought entered her mind.
What if something happens to my friend?
And suddenly, the only fear in her heart was for the life of her friend.
She had never been afraid of anything before.
But now she was terrified.
What if they hurt her?
What will they do to her?
Her heart pounded violently.
For the first time, she understood how precious a blessing could become when you suddenly feared losing it.
A desperate prayer escaped her lips without her even realizing it.
"Ya Allah⦠please, don't let anything happen to her. Please save my friendā¦"
She stumbled backward in fear.
For a few moments, she could think of nothing except her unborn children.
The fear was so deep that her eyes widened in terror.
Then she suddenly felt something behind her.
She turned her neck slightly.
And froze.
Standing behind her was a handsome man.
her brother.
her Savior.
Aleena stared at him in shock.
The man looked toward the place where one of the goons had pushed Aleena.
Something changed in his eyes.
His eyes became filled with fury.
His face and neck tightened with anger, and his expression became terrifyingly cold.
Aleena's eyes widened.
She had never seen such rage before.
The guards carefully helped Aiman back onto her feet, making sure she was steady before letting go. Her legs still felt weak, and she struggled to catch her breath as she stood there, shaken but safe.
The very next moment, her eyes traveled over the handsome man standing in front of her, slowly taking him in from head to toe.
"go".
The guards moved forward.
Within moments, they entered the room like a force of nature.
The man they had been ordered to target was the same boy who had attacked them earlier.
The fight broke out instantly.
The first punch landed with such force that the man staggered backward.
The goons had initially been calm and confident, but the moment they realized how powerful the newcomer was, their expressions changed.
He didn't stop.
His punches came one after another, relentless and furious.
Within moments, blood appeared on the faces of the three men, and they collapsed to the ground.
One of the others tried to grab him from behind.
Before he could stop him, the young man caught him and pulled him back.
Another man tried to interfere.
He grabbed a glass bottle from the table and swung it toward the young man's head.
But before the bottle could land properly, the young man grabbed him and pulled him forward, preventing him from escaping.
The room descended into chaos as the fight continued.
The very next moment, the glass struck his head.
But before anyone could even react, He moved with such incredible speed that the boys didn't get a chance to recover. He attacked them one after another, leaving them stunned.
There was no need for the guards to come and help. The lion was enough on his own.
Whether it was Saim, Hamid or Aiman, everyone could only stand there and watch him.
It was as if they were seeing a completely different person for the first time in their lives.
The young man standing before them was none other than Ibrahim Khan. The name alone was enough to make people lose the courage to speak.
Ibrahim Khan. The most feared mafia leader in the city. A man whose presence could silence an entire room.
People knew his name, but very few had ever dared to stand directly in front of him. He was known for his cold, unreadable expression, his ruthless nature, and the terrifying calm that came before his anger.
But tonight, that calm had disappeared. His dark eyes burned with fury as he stood there, his jaw clenched tightly.
No one dared move.
No one dared breathe too loudly.
Because they all knew one thingā
When Ibrahim Khan lost his temper, there was no telling what would happen next.
And the girl standing in-front of him still had no idea who the man protecting her really was.
She only knew that he had saved her.
She didn't know that the person she had just seen lose control was the same man whose name made even powerful people tremble.
The Mafia King.
Ibrahim Khan.
And somehowā¦
She had unknowingly become the one person capable of stopping his rage. And Aiman couldn't take her eyes off him.
He was striking those heavily built thugs as though they were nothing. His movements were unbelievably fastāevery punch, every dodge, every step carried the skill of a trained fighter.
This isn't an ordinary manā¦
Aiman stared at him in disbelief.
There was something frighteningly powerful about the way he fought.
Within only a couple of minutes, Ibrahim had knocked several of the men aside. One of them was pushed so hard that he stumbled away.
But then someone dared to attack Aiman.
Ibrahim's expression changed instantly.
"I'll kill you, bastard!"
He grabbed the man's neck, his fingers tightening around it as his anger exploded.
Before he could do anything further, Saim , Hamid and the others rushed toward him, trying to pull him away.
The guards had never seen their boss like this before. Otherwise, they would never have dared come close to him.
Ibrahim was completely out of control.
He stood exactly where he was, guarding Aiman, while the two men tried desperately to calm him down.
But they couldn't move him even an inch.
He was like a raging lion standing between Aiman and Aleena and everyone who wanted to hurt her.
He wouldn't let anyone come near her.
The thought of those men hurting her had driven him completely mad.
He tightened his grip around the boy's neck.
The man's face began turning red as he struggled to breathe.
Aleena's eyes widened in horror.
"Bhai please stop!"
Aiman saw the man's face becoming darker and darker, his breathing almost completely cut off.
"Stop!" she cried, her voice trembling.
But Ibrahim couldn't hear anything through the storm of rage inside him.
He was ready to kill the man standing before him.
His eyes were burning with fury.
Then Aiman noticed the guards moving toward Ibrahim.
"Don't!" she shouted.
She immediately stepped forward.
Ibrahim was still holding the man's neck when aleena reached him. She grabbed his hand and tried to pull it away.
"Bhai stop!"
For the first time, her voice carried fear rather than anger.
He looked at her.
Aiman stood in front of him, trying to make him understand that he needed to stop.
"Please⦠calm down."
Her voice trembled.
Ibrahim looked at her face.
The anger in his eyes was still there, but something about her expression made him hesitate.
He had never wanted to make her baby sister and her friend to be afraid of him.
Never.
And yet, seeing the fear in their eyes made him realize just how far his anger had gone.
Why had she become afraid of him?
He slowly closed his eyes, trying to regain control over himself.
Aiman watched his face carefully.
She could see the effort he was making to suppress his rage.
His breathing was heavy. The veins on his forehead stood out, and his fists were tightly clenched.
Even after everything, the anger had not completely disappeared.
Aiman knew he needed a moment.
She carefully moved her hands from his wrist , trying to calm him.
Ibrahim felt her touch.
For a moment, the storm inside him seemed to weaken.
Aiman's fear was still visible on her face, but she was trying not to show it.
"Please stop," she whispered softly.
Ibrahim looked at her. then call one of his guards.
"Come on⦠take her home."
This time, there was no anger in her voice.
Only a quiet request.
Ibrahim's expression softened slightly.
He wanted to look at the boy again, but Aleena immediately stepped between them, blocking his view with both hands.
"Bhai, please⦠let's go home."
His jaw tightened.
But he finally looked away.
His voice, when he spoke again, was still authoritative, but the rage had begun to fade.
"Fine. Let's go."
Aleena and Aiman quietly breathed out in relief.
As they began to leave, Ibrahim glanced toward the others.
His gaze was still cold enough to make everyone fall silent.
No one dared speak.
Then his eyes returned to Aiman.
He noticed the fear she was trying to hide.
The trembling of her hands.
The tears gathering in her eyes.
And suddenly, his anger disappeared beneath something else.
Concern.
He didn't want her to be scared of him.
He wanted her to feel safe with him.
For the first time, Ibrahim realized how frightening he must have looked to her.
And that realization hurt more than any wound he had received that night.
The night had already become too heavy.
After everything that had happened, no one wanted to stay there any longer.
Aleena quietly left with her brother, while the others headed home separately. Hamid got into the passenger seat beside the driver, while Aiman slipped into the back seat with Saim.
The moment the car started moving, Aiman turned her face toward the window.
The city lights passed by in a blur, but she barely noticed them.
Her mind was somewhere else.
Back at that place.
Back in those terrifying moments.
Her fingers were tightly intertwined in her lap, and despite trying her best to stay calm, they were still trembling slightly.
Why am I still so scared?
She swallowed hard.
It's over now. I'm safe. Then why can't I stop thinking about it?
Saim glanced at her through the rear-view mirror.
He had been watching her silently for the past few minutes.
"Aimanā¦"
She didn't respond.
"Aiman?" he called again, this time softly.
She blinked and finally looked at him.
"Huh?"
Saim gave her a small smile. "Kahan kho gayi ho?"
"Nowhere."
"Jhoot," Hamid immediately interrupted from the front seat.
Aiman looked at him.
Hamid turned slightly in his seat and smiled. "Tumhari shakal bata rahi hai ke tumhara dimaagh abhi bhi wahi phansa hua hai."
Aiman forced a tiny smile.
"I'm fine."
Saim raised an eyebrow.
"Tumhara I'm fine wala face dekh kar mujhe bilkul yaqeen nahi aa raha."
Hamid chuckled.
"Exactly. Ye wohi face hai jo tum tab banati ho jab tum bilkul fine nahi hoti."
Aiman looked away again.
"Bas⦠thori disturbed hoon."
The smile disappeared from both boys' faces.
Saim's voice became gentle.
"It's okay. Jo hua, woh tumhari fault nahi thi."
Aiman's eyes lowered.
"Lekin mujhe wahan jaana hi nahi chahiye thaā¦"
"Tumhein kya pata tha?" Hamid asked immediately. "Aiman, tumne jaan bujh kar kuch nahi kiya."
She remained silent.
Saim leaned slightly closer.
"Listen to me. You're safe now. Bas us incident ko baar baar apne mind mein replay mat karo."
Aiman nodded faintly.
"Hmm."
But inside, she wasn't convinced.
How am I supposed to forget it so easily?
She rested her forehead against the cold window.
Outside, everything looked completely normal.
Cars were moving.
People were walking.
Lights were glowing.
Yet inside her chest, everything still felt strangely dark.
Meanwhile, in another car, Ibrahim sat in complete silence.
Aleena was sitting beside him on passengerseat, already sensing the storm brewing behind his calm expression.
For several minutes, he said nothing.
That silence was worse than shouting.
Aleena nervously played with her fingers.
Finally, Ibrahim spoke.
"Tum wahan gayi hi kyun thi?"
His voice was low.
Too low.
Aleena looked at him.
"Bhai, I justā"
"I asked you a question."
His eyes hardened.
"Tum us disgusting jagah par gayi hi kyun thi?"
Aleena's lips parted, but no answer came.
"Ibrahim Bhaiā¦"
"Do you have any idea what could have happened to you guys?"
His voice rose slightly.
"You didn't even think before going there? Itni carelessness kaise kar sakti ho tum?"
Aleena lowered her gaze.
"I didn't know something like this would happenā¦"
"Exactly!"
Ibrahim's hand tightened into a fist.
"Tumhein pata nahi tha. Aur isi baat ka mujhe gussa hai."
Aleena looked at him with slightly teary eyes.
"I'm sorry."
Ibrahim looked away.
For a moment, he said nothing.
His anger was real.
But beneath it was something far stronger.
Fear.
The thought of what could have happened to her had been haunting him ever since he saw her there.
What if I had arrived a few minutes later?
The thought alone made his jaw clench.
He finally looked back at her.
"Tum meri behen ho, Aleena."
His voice was quieter now.
"Tumhare saath kuch ho jata toh"
He stopped.
He couldn't even finish the sentence.
Aleena's eyes filled with tears.
"Ibrahim Bhaiā¦"
He sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"I know I shouted at you."
His expression softened slightly.
"Lekin tumhari safety mere liye sab se important hai."
Aleena wiped the corner of her eye.
"I really am sorry."
Ibrahim looked at her for a long moment.
Then he said quietly,
"Bas dobara aisi jagah par bina soche mat jaana."
Aleena nodded.
"Promise."
Ibrahim leaned back against the seat and closed his eyes.
The anger was slowly fading.
But the fear remained.
Because no matter how powerful Ibrahim Khan wasā¦
There were some things even he couldn't control.
And the thought of losing someone he loved was one of them.
The room was unusually silent.
Sufiyan mir sat on sofa, leaning back, one hand resting against the armrest while his other fingers tapped slowly against the polished wood.
His expression was unreadable.
Cold.
Calm.
Dangerously calm.
Standing several feet away from him was his right hand khawar.
Usually, khawar had no problem facing armed men or dangerous situations.
But right nowā¦
He was nervous.
Very nervous.
He cleared his throat before finally speaking.
"Bossā¦"
Sufiyan's fingers stopped moving.
"Hm?"
khawar swallowed.
"Jo kuch wahan hua⦠I think you should know everything."
sufiyan lifted his eyes toward him.
"Then speak."
khawar took a breath and began telling him everything that had happened.
How Aiman had ended up in that place.
How she had looked terrified.
How ibrahim khan enter.
How he save Aiman from them.
Khawar carefully watched sufiyan's face while speaking.
He expected anger.
He expected sufiyan to slam his fist against the table.
Maybe even order someone to find the men responsible.
But nothing happened.
Sufiyan simply listened.
Silently.
Until khawar finished.
"That's everything, Boss."
Silence.
A few seconds passed.
Thenā
The corner of sufiyan's lips slowly curved upward.
A dark smile.
Khawar froze.
What the hell?
He had expected his boss to explode.
Instead, the he looked almost amused.
Sufiyan leaned back in his chair.
"Aimanā¦"
He quietly repeated her name.
For some reason, the image of her face immediately appeared in his mind.
Those frightened eyes.
That innocent expression.
The way she had tried to remain strong even when she was terrified.
His smile deepened.
So you're not like the others.
Most girls he had encountered in his world were familiar with wealth, power, attention and danger.
But Aimanā¦
She seemed completely different.
She hadn't tried to impress anyone.
She hadn't cared about his appearance, his money, or his influence.
She had simply wanted to get away from that horrible situation.
And somehow, that innocence had caught his attention.
"Interestingā¦" he murmured.
khawar frowned.
"Boss?"
Sufiyan's eyes remained fixed on nothing in particular.
"Woh mujhse dar rahi thi."
There was something almost thoughtful in his voice.
Khawar hesitated.
"Yes."
Sufiyan smiled faintly.
"Lekin phir bhi usne himmat nahi haari."
His fingers slowly tapped against the desk again.
She was scared⦠but she still fought.
That thought fascinated him.
He hadn't expected to think about her after leaving that place.
Yet here he was.
Remembering her face.
Again.
And again.
Sufiyan finally looked at khawar.
"Uska naam Aiman hai?"
"Yes, Boss."
"Family?"
Sufiyan immediately understood.
He straightened.
"Should I find out?"
Sufiyan's dark eyes narrowed slightly.
"Not just her family."
His voice became firm.
"Everything."
khawar nodded.
"Ji, Boss."
"I want to know where she lives, where she studies, who her family is, who her friends areā¦"
He paused.
"And what kind of life she lives."
khawar stared at him for a moment.
"Okay Bossā¦"
Sufiyan's lips curved into another dangerous smile.
His mind returned to that innocent face.
He stood from his chair and walked toward the window.
The city glittered beneath the night sky.
Somewhere out there was a girl who had no idea that she had caught the attention of Sufiyan mir.
A man whose name alone was enough to make powerful people nervous.
A man who rarely became interested in anyone.
Yet tonightā¦
He couldn't stop thinking about her.
"Find out everything," he ordered.
khawar nodded. "And after that?"
Sufiyan looked out into the darkness, that faint smile still playing on his lips.
"Then tell me where I can find her."
khawar's eyes widened slightly.
"You're going to meet her?"
Ibrahim finally turned around.
His gaze was calm, but there was something dangerously determined behind it.
"Soon."
He paused.
"Very soon."
khawar quietly left the room.
The door closed behind him.
Sufiyan remained standing by the window.
For the first time in a long while, something unfamiliar stirred inside his chest.
Curiosity.
He didn't know why that girl's innocent face had stayed in his mind.
He didn't know what would happen when their paths crossed again.
But one thing was certainā
Aiman had no idea that the man she had seen that night was Sufiyan Mir.
And sufiyan had already decidedā¦
He was going to see her again.
Meher Sultan pov
I lay on the cold floor, completely motionless, staring blankly at the ceiling.
A faint crack ran across it.
I had stared at that same crack so many times that I could almost trace its shape with my eyes without thinking.
Tonight, I didn't even have the strength for that.
My cheek was pressed against the freezing floor, and my body felt unbearably heavy. My clothes were wrinkled, my hair was tangled, and my eyes burned from crying for hours.
My phone lay a few inches away from my fingers.
I reached for it one last time.
Nothing.
The screen remained black.
I pressed the power button again.
Nothing.
A broken little laugh escaped me.
"Deadā¦"
I whispered.
"Phone bhi mar gaya."
My stomach suddenly cramped.
I instinctively wrapped an arm around it.
"Ahā¦"
I squeezed my eyes shut.
I couldn't remember the last proper meal I'd had.
Hunger had started as a dull ache.
Now it felt like a constant, painful emptiness.
I swallowed hard, trying to ignore it.
"Bas thori dair aurā¦" I told myself.
But even that sounded like a lie.
There was a half-empty glass of water sitting near the wall, just out of reach.
I stared at it.
For several seconds, I didn't move.
Then I slowly pushed myself forward.
My arms trembled beneath me.
I reached for the glassā
ābut my fingers were too weak.
The glass slipped.
Crash.
It shattered against the floor.
I froze.
Tiny pieces of glass scattered across the tiles.
I stared at them silently.
And suddenly, something inside me broke too.
A sob escaped my throat.
"Why"
My voice was barely audible.
"Main ne aisa kya kiya hai"
I pulled my knees toward my chest.
"Why am I being punished like this?"
My tears started falling again.
I pressed both hands against my mouth, desperately trying to silence myself.
"Bas, Meher⦠bas."
But I couldn't stop.
I was tired.
So tired.
Tired of crying.
Tired of screaming.
Tired of fighting against something I couldn't even defeat.
"Tiredā¦" I whispered.
"I'm so tired."
My forehead rested against my knees.
"Mujh mein aur himmat nahi haiā¦"
For the first time, I admitted it to myself.
"Main aur nahi lar sakti."
The room remained silent.
No footsteps.
No voices.
No one came.
I slowly lifted my face toward the ceiling again.
"Ya Allahā¦"
My voice trembled.
"Pleaseā¦"
Another tear slipped down my cheek.
"Bas mujhe ghar pohancha dein."
I closed my eyes.
"Main promise karti hoon⦠main kabhi kisi cheez ki shikayat nahi karungi."
My lips trembled.
"Bas ek baar⦠mujhe ghar jana hai."
Silence answered me.
I remained on the floor, surrounded by broken glass, with a dead phone beside me and an aching emptiness inside my stomach.
For the first time, I wasn't fighting the tears.
I simply let them fall.
Because sometimesā¦
the strongest person in the room is the one who finally admits that she's tired.
