Chapter 25 - No Sensei?

As they entered the village, Takao cleared his throat and addressed the group, "I will handle the mission report. The three of you should rest for today and meet up tomorrow as usual. Now, dismissed."

The following days consisted of rigorous physical training. Takashi, the instructor, announced, "Now that you three have successfully completed a C rank mission, it's time to elevate your training. We'll be taking on more challenging C rank missions."

Upon hearing this, the trio exchanged smiles, their determination evident. Yuki, one of the team members, inquired, "Sensei, when do you think we'll be ready for B rank missions?"

Takao raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised, and asked, "What's on your mind?"

Yuki responded eagerly, "Well, we want to face skilled shinobi, not just ordinary bandits."

Takao let out a small sigh before replying firmly, "You're not prepared for that level yet. If you bring up this topic again, I'll assign you D rank missions for an entire year. So, be appreciative of the opportunities you're given."

In the days that followed, their training became more demanding. The trio persisted through vigorous exercises and combat drills, their determination growing stronger. One evening, as they caught their breath after an intense session, Takashi sat them down.

"Remember," Takashi began, "Moving up the ranks takes time. Each mission and training session contributes to your growth. Patience is key."

Yuki nodded thoughtfully, "I understand, sensei."

Another month flew by, marked by their unrelenting training sessions. The team's efforts culminated in another successful C rank mission. This time, they were tasked with escorting a merchant to the Land of Tea. The mission followed the familiar pattern, as they faced off against bandits attempting to raid the merchant's caravan. The journey took them a week to reach the Land of Tea and another day to return to their village.

Upon their arrival back in Konoha, Takao efficiently oversaw the completion of the necessary formalities, allowing both him and the young Genins to be dismissed. Yuto, upon reaching his home, came up with an efficient routine. After a refreshing bath, he let a shadow clone handle dinner preparations while he indulged in a hearty meal. With no pressing matters on his plate, Yuto decided to maximize his time. He created two more shadow clones, and together they delved into practicing fuinjutsu.

As Yuto practiced the intricate art of fuinjutsu, he took a moment to reflect on his progress over the past few months. "It's been four months since I graduated," he mused, his thoughts deepening. "The advancements I've achieved are akin to what I used to accomplish during my academic years. Having an elite jonin as our trainer is truly invaluable. I initially worried they might be like Kakashi, sparing with guidance, but the depth of their teachings has pleasantly surprised me."

A small smile formed on Yuto's face as he continued his reflection. "My chakra reserve has noticeably tripled, which has boosted my capabilities significantly. The gravity seal's pressure has been heightened from 50% to 70%, pushing my limits further. Interestingly, even without formal training in observation haki, my sensing range has expanded to a remarkable 1.5 kilometers."

Yuto's contemplation shifted to his combat prowess. "Thanks to consistent sparring, my taijutsu skills have been steadily improving. I believe I'm now teetering on the brink of the chunin level in that regard. But the real strides have come in ninjutsu and kenjutsu.

In kenjutsu, I'm working on enhancing my speed, aiming to increase the number of slashes I can execute per second. This versatility could prove crucial. Moreover, my proficiency in chakra flow has grown, allowing me to wield it more effortlessly. As in ninjutsu, I'm trying to reduce the hand seals to execute the jutsus."

His thoughts then delved into the complexities of fuinjutsu. "My journey in fuinjutsu is also showing promising results. As I ascend in rank, I've encountered numerous new seals and theories. I've begun creating some seals myself."

Yuto's reverie concluded with a touch of eagerness. "Now, I'm really yearning to put my progress to the test. I wonder when that opportunity will finally arise." With a renewed sense of purpose, he returned to his fuinjutsu practice.

The following day, Yuto arrived at the training ground to find both Tikki and Kosuke already seated. With friendly nods, Yuto greeted them and asked, "Are you both prepared for another training session? I have a feeling he's going to step it up today."

In response, Yuki chimed in, her tone a bit weary, "Honestly, I'd rather be out on a mission. Let's not jinx it by mentioning more training." Kosuke let out a sigh of agreement, adding, "Yeah, let's avoid using that word, please. I'm not exactly thrilled about doing this again."

After a short while, Takao arrived on the scene and addressed the trio, "Over the past few months, I've been drilling the fundamentals into you. Now that your teamwork has improved, we won't be focusing on further training sessions. You're free to use this time as you wish." Turning to Yuto and Kosuke, he continued, "Starting today, the two of you will be responsible for your own practice. I'll be away for the next three months, engaged in an important mission assigned by Lord Hokage. During my absence, it's time for you to train independently."

He paused, his words carrying a sense of determination, "When I return, we'll dive into a series of missions, so be prepared. However, I want you to keep taking on D rank missions every week. Consistency matters."

Yuki spoke up first, her voice brimming with determination, "Sensei, you can trust that we'll emerge from this period even stronger than before."

Kosuke chimed in with equal enthusiasm, "Absolutely, sensei. We're committed to taking on missions every week."

Yuto's confidence shone as well, "We'll be well-prepared for whatever missions come our way."

Hearing their unwavering commitment, Takao couldn't help but smile inwardly. He responded, "I believe in your dedication. And since I won't be here, let's make today's training a bit more intense."

Simultaneously, the trio's expressions shifted slightly and their minds shared a common thoughts, 'Oh no, what have we gotten ourselves into? Why didn't we just keep quiet? And where did he get the idea of more training?'

Following the intensified training session, Takao surprised them by taking them out to Yakiniku Q for dinner. As they entered the restaurant, the trio exchanged devilish smiles, sensing a rare treat. Takao, observing their expressions, had a moment of contemplation, but it was too late to back out.

Once the food arrived, Yuto showcased his impressive eating prowess, taking full advantage of his fast digestion ability. Witnessing this, Takao felt a mixture of disbelief and amusement, thinking, 'Is he a long-lost member of the Akimichi clan? Could he possibly be their secret offspring? And here I was thinking about giving them thoughtful gifts.'

After their meal, Takao bid his farewell and departed. Kosuke took the initiative, suggesting, "We can stick to our usual physical training routine, and afterwards, engage in some light sparring with each other."

Yuki eagerly agreed, saying, "That's a solid plan. Through friendly sparring, we can definitely refine our techniques and grow stronger."

Yuto chimed in as well, saying, "Sounds like a good strategy. We can focus on honing our individual abilities during this time. And let's continue taking D rank missions every Monday."

Kosuke nodded in agreement, reinforcing the idea, "Sounds good, let's go with that plan."

Yuki concluded with a cheerful tone, "Alright then, see you all tomorrow. Take care and goodbye!"

Upon returning home, Yuto eased into the comforting embrace of a warm bath. As the water enveloped him, he mused to himself, 'Ah, this is truly relaxing. Now I need to strategize for the upcoming three months. It's interesting that I haven't come across a situation like this in the anime. Perhaps it's an S rank mission. It makes sense; there might be a shortage of shinobi due to their commitment to teaching us. That could explain the intense training we've been receiving.'

Examining his current skill set, Yuto contemplated, 'Alright, here's what I have in my arsenal: fuinjutsu, ninjutsu, and kenjutsu. Let's break it down to maximize my growth during this period.'

'In fuinjutsu,' he thought, 'I've covered most of the theoretical aspects. Now, it's time to put that knowledge into practice. I should focus on learning and mastering new seals. Practical application will undoubtedly deepen my understanding.'

Turning his attention to kenjutsu, he mused, 'I've got to nail down the total concentration breathing technique. Its significance in boosting my swordsmanship cannot be underestimated. Additionally, I need to work on increasing the speed and volume of slashes I can execute in a single second. This will surely make my swordplay more versatile and formidable.'

As for his ninjutsu proficiency, Yuto reflected, 'There are some jutsu I've yet to master. I'll devote time to mastering those techniques, honing my control and precision. Given that ninjutsu plays a pivotal role right now in various situations.'

'However,' he considered, 'I mustn't neglect my physical capabilities. Strengthening my body is crucial, especially considering the challenges of the fourth great ninja war. Though ninjutsu takes a backseat, a strong body never betrays in battle and once I've strengthened my body, I can begin experimenting with creating my own rokushiki moves. It'll be an exciting challenge to see what innovative techniques I can come up with."

After three months had passed, the trio found themselves munching on ration bars. Yuto's mind wandered as he reflected on the intense training period. "These three months of training have truly paid off," he mused. "My physical strength has undergone a remarkable transformation, largely thanks to the digestion ability of seimei kikan."

Continuing his thoughts, Yuto added, 'The gravity seal I was utilizing before no longer poses any limitations, so I've switched to another seal with a 5-ton threshold. By employing it at 21%, it's as if I'm carrying 1050 kilograms on each limb. It's astonishing how much progress I've made in such a short span.'

Considering his progress, Yuto noted, 'And it seems like I'm developing at a faster pace than Guy did. Maybe it's the impact of seimei kikan. After all, in One Piece, characters are shown lifting tons of weight easily, so this substantial increase should have been expected.

In the field of fuinjutsu, I've managed to grasp numerous new seals. These include summoning and reverse summoning techniques. There's also the fascinating twin rising dragons technique, famously used by Tenten. It's quite an impressive move.

But one of the most intriguing ones is the five seal barrier. This seal is quite strategic. It played a part during the capture of Gaara by Sasori and Deidara. What this technique accomplishes is transforming the area encompassed by the tags into a protective barrier space. Here, the concept of "forbidden" material destruction comes into play. Any attempts at physical attacks within the barrier are futile and lead to harm. The way to nullify this is by locating and simultaneously removing the five tags. It's an intriguing challenge that mandates a team of at least five members for cancellation. Even if the barrier is somehow broken, there's a final obstacle. The user can set a trap that generates perfect copies of those who removed the seal. This cleverly prevents them from returning immediately. Additionally, there's the handy barrier tag. It's designed to shield against C-rank jutsu, but there are upgraded versions available for higher ranks too. Exploding tags and gravity seals also fall within the list of techniques I've mastered.

In my kenjutsu practice, I've made progress. I can now execute three slashes within a single second. This increased speed and precision enhance my swordsmanship considerably. During these months, I've also dedicated time to meditation. It seems I've hit a point where my progress is a bit stuck – a bottleneck, so to speak. And I believe that the next milestone would involve gaining the ability to hear the breath of things around me. This would undoubtedly be a significant breakthrough.

On another front, I've been experimenting with recreating the explosive strength demonstrated by Tsunade. I'm attempting to achieve this by manipulating chakra with a higher degree of control. If I can master this technique, I could potentially integrate it into my kenjutsu. The synergy between the explosive chakra and my sword skills might lead to even more devastating attacks.

In the realm of ninjutsu, I've successfully mastered the jutsu I've been learning. For D-rank jutsus, I've reached a point where I can execute them using a single hand seal. As for C-rank jutsus, they require just one hand seal to activate.

[A/N: "Single hand seal" means using one hand and performing a single hand seal to execute a jutsu, whereas "one hand seal" means using both hands but only needing one seal to perform the jutsu.]

During the span of these three months, we've managed to accomplish an additional 12 D-rank missions, enhancing our practical experience and skills.

He should be coming today bu.....'

Yuto's thoughts were abruptly halted as he sensed someone approaching. He couldn't help but think, 'Well, speak of the devil and here he is.'
