The dust in the Halton storage room lay thick and unmoving, like a silent blanket over forgotten luxury and abandoned dreams. I was on my knees, the rough concrete biting through my thin cotton pants as I reached blindly behind a stack of water-stained accounting ledgers from a decade ago.
