Chapter 169
Silas came back with the lumia roots, a triumphant smirk playing on his lips. He tossed a burlap sack onto the table, the contents rustling softly.
"Here you go, Dafa," he said, his voice smooth. "The real deal, just as promised. Enough lumia roots to…solve your little problem."
Dafa's eyes were fixed on the sack, a mixture of relief and apprehension in his gaze. He reached out and untied the drawstring, peering inside. The roots were gnarled and twisted, their surfaces glowing with a faint, ethereal light.
"They look… potent," Dafa said, his voice hushed.
"The best," Silas replied, his eyes gleaming. "Now, about our agreement. Is your buddy ready to guide me to the Serpent Falls?"
Dafa nodded slowly. "He's waiting for you," he said. "I've messaged him. He's packed and ready to leave at dawn."
"Excellent," Silas said, clapping his hands together. "Then everything is in order. I'll meet him at the city gates at first light."
"Okay."
