Father stared at me for a long moment. Then he nodded slowly.
"Okay," my father said. "I trust you."
The words settled over me like a mantle. Heavy, but not crushing.
Lilith stood. "So we go to the Haltons now?"
"No." I shook my head. "Not yet."
My mother frowned. "Why not? You said the evidence..."
"The evidence is our last weapon. If we use it too soon, Minerva will just deny everything and destroy the documents she still has." I walked to the window. "We need something stronger. Something she can't deny."
Lilith tilted her head. "Like what?"
I turned to face them. "Father, you said Minerva had a personal accountant. A man who handled all her private finances. What was his name?"
My father's brow furrowed. "Hartono. Yes, Budi Hartono. He worked for her for nearly fifteen years. Quiet man. Never spoke much. Then one day, about six months ago, he was gone. Fired, Minerva said. No explanation."
