"Miss Ming," Alpha Guard 1 suddenly appeared from somewhere, startling Ming Yutong.
"How did you get here?" Ming Yutong asked in surprise, but Alpha Guard 1 quickly responded, "Please follow me."

Fu Yinxiu's assistant, Xu Linming, hurried forward to stop them. "The president is in an important meeting."
Ming Yutong heard this and said, "I can wait."
"No need," Alpha Guard 1 said, shaking his head without thinking. He told Xu Linming, "This matter is much more important than what the president is discussing right now."
Xu Linming hesitated, "But if the president gets upset…"
"I'll take responsibility," Alpha Guard 1 said, disregarding Xu Linming's objections, and knocked on the door.
Hearing no response from inside, Xu Linming knew the president was likely upset.
Fu Yinxiu was known for not allowing any interruptions during important meetings.

"Yesterday, after Jiang Lulian left, you hit him by the roadside," Ming Yutong said in a deep voice.
Fu Yinxiu's face grew cold, and he offered no defense. "Yes."
"Why?" Ming Yutong demanded.
"You know why. I'm jealous. I'm jealous that he can walk alongside you, jealous that you are kind to him, jealous that you smile at him but won't say even a word to me. I'm jealous that you're willing to give him a chance but not me."
Fu Yinxiu took a step closer. He longed to be near her but had always hesitated. Now, he could no longer hold back.
"You refuse to see me, yet you come here to confront me because you're angry that I hurt him. If it were me who was hurt, if he had hurt me, would you stand up for me? Would you feel pain for me? Would you question him?"
Ming Yutong frowned.
Fu Yinxiu's question seemed unreasonable.
How could Jiang Lulian possibly harm Fu Yinxiu.
Fu Yinxiu forced a bitter smile. "No, right? You'd just be pleased, thinking it's my retribution, wouldn't you?"
"No." Ming Yutong finally spoke. "I wouldn't think that. And Jiang Lulian can't hurt you. Even if he tried, he wouldn't be able to."
A glimmer of hope sparked in Fu Yinxiu's eyes. "So, you wouldn't be happy if I were hurt?"
"Of course not." Ming Yutong's heart seemed to skip a beat.
Was he so pleased just to hear her say she wouldn't be happy if he was hurt?
It was as if she had uttered some profoundly moving words.
Ming Yutong lowered her gaze, her long lashes fluttering like butterfly wings, brushing against Fu Yinxiu's heart.
