Fu Yinxiu's eyes were red with frustration. "I really don't know how to prove my love to you. I would never hurt you again, but you won't give me a chance. Can you stop being so inconsistent? Are you intentionally torturing me? I'm in so much pain I can't sleep or eat."
"Are you deliberately making my heart go up and down? One moment I think you've slightly changed towards me, and the next moment, you're cold and rejecting again. I can't even be happy about a slight change in your attitude because I don't know if it will last."
"If you're doing this on purpose, Ming Yutong, you've succeeded." He trapped her against the door with his arms and let go of one hand to point at his own chest. "You've really hurt me here."
"You always used to say that you wouldn't believe me unless I gave you my heart. Now I understand that feeling. Is this why you're treating me this way? Ming Yutong, do you want me to cut open my chest and show you my heart?"
"Tell me why! Why are you ignoring me today? Please, tell me. I need to know the reason so I can explain and change."
Seeing Ming Yutong's cold and almost numb expression made Fu Yinxiu's eyes even redder. "Ming Yutong, speak to me! Tell me what to do! I'm really at a loss and don't know what to do. Can you help me? How should I act?"
Ming Yutong opened her mouth but couldn't decide how to respond.
Fu Yinxiu, fearing she might tell him to leave, hurriedly said, "I can't let you go! I'll stick by you for the rest of my life. Ming Yutong, do you hear me? For the rest of my life, I'll stick by you! You said you wouldn't marry anyone in this lifetime. If you don't marry, I won't either. Even if you want to marry, I'll sabotage it."
Ming Yutong took a deep breath. "Fu Yinxiu, don't you think it's hypocritical? You say you love me and act so deeply devoted. No matter how harshly I treat you, you're always so tolerant, it makes me feel guilty."
Fu Yinxiu stared at Ming Yutong, waiting for her to continue.
"But on the other hand, you're still maintaining a relationship with that little girlfriend of yours. You say you love me and want me to believe you, but how can I believe you?" Ming Yutong's eyes were filled with scorn as she looked at him.
Fu Yinxiu was taken aback and asked in confusion, "Little girlfriend? What girlfriend?"
"Don't play dumb! I saw you with her last time at your office. You told me that you've never been in a relationship before me and didn't know how to love or interact with other women. I actually believed that nonsense!"
Ming Yutong sneered. "How could I forget? You even took Miss He to the Moon Festival party. You told me you hadn't been in a relationship?"
Her eyes were filled with derision. "Fu Yinxiu, is there any truth left in you?"
Fu Yinxiu was momentarily stunned, blinking in surprise.
But then he began to smile lightly, looking so happy and carefree that it was as if a heavy gloom had lifted from him. He seemed much younger and more energetic.
Ming Yutong frowned and looked at Fu Yinxiu, her displeasure evident. She was serious, but he was smiling!
"Are you jealous, Tong Tong?" Fu Yinxiu, no longer using her full name, addressed her affectionately.
Ming Yutong pressed her lips together tightly before responding, "I just dislike two-faced behavior."
"The person you're talking about is Alpha Guard 5," Fu Yinxiu said with a gentle smile in his eyes.
Ming Yutong blinked, confused.
Alpha Guard 5?
"He Ruo Yi is Alpha Guard 5, a member of Alpha Guards," Fu Yinxiu explained. "In Alpha Guards, there are only two women, and she's one of the more prominent ones. I needed someone by my side for the event, and she was a suitable choice, similar to Alpha Guard 1 and Alpha Guard 2."
Ming Yutong felt embarrassed and didn't know what to say.
Fu Yinxiu, however, seemed pleased. "Are you jealous?"
Ming Yutong scoffed, "I didn't know Alpha Guards could call you 'Xiu' so casually."
Fu Yinxiu's expression became serious.
"What's going on? Tell me everything."
Ming Yutong realized she might have misunderstood the situation. She couldn't deceive herself; she was indeed jealous. Her anger stemmed from the fact that she was still affected by Fu Yinxiu. So, when she thought she had been deceived, she felt hurt and betrayed.
Ming Yutong looked down, feeling uneasy. "Can you let me go first?"
Fu Yinxiu smiled and slowly withdrew his arms.
"Come here," he said to Ming Yutong, then turned and walked into the room.
Fu Yinxiu's bedroom was spacious, with a large bed and a seating area with a sofa and coffee table. Under the coffee table was a small built-in wine cabinet. However, Fu Yinxiu didn't sit on the sofa but instead took a seat at the edge of the bed and beckoned Ming Yutong. "Come here."
Ming Yutong, expressionless, sat down on the sofa across from him.
Fu Yinxiu sighed in frustration. "How can we talk if you sit so far away?"
"We don't have much to talk about," Ming Yutong replied coldly.
"Isn't the misunderstanding cleared up?" Fu Yinxiu said helplessly, walking over and sitting beside Ming Yutong. "Tell me about Alpha Guard 5 in detail."
Ming Yutong knew that He Ruo Yi, being a prominent member of Alpha Guards and often attending events with Fu Yinxiu, might have developed feelings for him.
