Chapter 1028 - Chapter 1028 : You’re Uncertain

Ming Yuqian's expression suddenly darkened, showing frustration and anger. If he weren't keen on hearing what Jiang Lulian had to say next, he would have charged off to settle the score with Jiang Lulian immediately.

"I… actually don't know…" Jiang Lulian said weakly.

Ming Yutong glanced at her brother, who was clearly about to lose his composure.

Fortunately, her warning glance stopped him just in time. Ming Yuqian was on the verge of snapping, his anger barely contained.

Ming Yutong herself was equally enraged. What did Jiang Lulian mean by "don't know"?

What was the purpose of this call? Was he clueless about what he had said?

What kind of nonsense was this?!

"What exactly do you mean? How can you not know what you said?" Ming Yutong 0demanded, her frustration showing.

"I was completely drunk at the time," Jiang Lulian explained. "I was drinking alone in a private room. When I saw you with Fu Yinxiu… I know I have no right, but I still felt hurt."

Ming Yuqian clenched his fists, struggling to control his fury.

Since he already knew, why bring it up now?

Was he hoping to elicit Ming Yutong's sympathy and rekindle her feelings for him?

What a despicable move!

It's laughable that Ming Yutong once said he was responsible. What kind of responsible man behaves like this? He abandoned her so readily and now tries to cling to her while claiming he still cares.

If he truly cared, he wouldn't have given up so easily!

Thank goodness Ming Yutong was clear-headed and had Fu Yinxiu sticking by her side. Even if Jiang Lulian was more infatuated, he couldn't be more shameless than Fu Yinxiu.

Ming Yuqian had never been so confident in Fu Yinxiu before, but Jiang Lulian's persistence was getting on his nerves.

What if Ming Yutong were swayed by Jiang Lulian's pleas?

Would Jiang Lulian actually be willing to leave his current girlfriend and be with Ming Yutong?

How would he treat Ming Yutong in the future, especially considering her infertility issues?

Ming Yuqian didn't need to think hard to come to the conclusion that Jiang Lulian would not continue to be supportive.

So, what was the point of Jiang Lulian's repeated attempts to hassle Ming Yutong and express his reluctance?

Ming Yuqian spat in disdain. Fortunately, his sister was not easily manipulated. She was clear-headed and wouldn't fall for Jiang Lulian's tricks.

Otherwise, anyone else might have been severely hurt by Jiang Lulian's manipulations!

Ming Yuqian was filled with pride, convinced that his sister was the best.

Ming Yutong, meanwhile, was bewildered by the sudden shift in emotions displayed by her brother. His face had been fierce and ready to confront someone, and now he looked proudly satisfied.

Ming Yutong shook her head, choosing not to dwell on it.

Hearing Jiang Lulian's excuses, Ming Yutong felt both anger and impatience. She might have been patient and understanding once or twice, but not anymore.

Ming Yutong had already told Jiang Lulian more than once that she didn't blame him and was even grateful for his past actions. Yet now, Jiang Lulian continued to repeat these sentiments, which only fueled her irritation.

Ming Yutong bit her lip, struggling to keep her impatience in check. "So what?" she asked firmly.

"Because of my emotional state at the time, I drank a bit too much and don't really remember clearly," Jiang Lulian said. "I remember thinking about you, and I think I called your name out loud."

Ming Yutong's face tightened. The fact that Jiang Lulian called her name while drinking implied he wasn't alone. The idea that he might have mentioned her name in front of others made her feel nauseous. Had she misjudged Jiang Lulian's character?

Jiang Lulian continued, "At that time, I was thinking about your infertility issues. I thought about how much better it would be if you didn't have that problem. I might have mumbled something about it, but I'm sure I didn't specify what it was."

Ming Yutong's jaw clenched, her patience wearing thin. "Didn't specify what? You clearly said something."

Jiang Lulian fidgeted, his uncertainty growing. "I'm not sure. I was so drunk that I can't be certain of what I said."

Ming Yutong's voice grew stern. "If you were alone, what were you afraid of? Did someone else show up later?"

"I vaguely remember that Nie Yalin came to find me," Jiang Lulian said. "I don't remember what she asked me, just that I heard her mention your name."

"So, when Nie Yalin mentioned my name, you let slip what was on your mind, didn't you?" Ming Yutong pressed.

"I don't think I said anything to her. I barely spoke to her, so it's unlikely I mentioned your situation," Jiang Lulian insisted.

"Then why did Nie Yalin bring me up?" Ming Yutong demanded.

"Maybe… maybe she thought I was still hung up on you," Jiang Lulian said, sounding increasingly guilty.

Ming Yuqian snorted derisively. No one could tolerate their current partner pining over someone else, let alone claim to be deeply emotional about it.

Ming Yutong, ignoring her brother's disdain, said, "But you must have said something to her, right?"

Her voice was now unrestrainedly harsh.

Jiang Lulian hesitated. "I don't remember clearly. I remember seeing her, but I'm not sure if I said anything about you. I was completely drunk after seeing her."

"Jiang Lulian!" Ming Yutong called him by name, her voice a mix of anger and hurt. "Do you have any idea how difficult it is for me to reveal such personal information? How embarrassing it was for me to share this with you?"

"This is something only my family knows, and I trusted you with it because I believed you were someone worth confiding in. How could you do this? You promised me you wouldn't tell anyone!"

"I didn't tell anyone, I swear I didn't! I really don't remember if I said anything to her. I was completely out of it," Jiang Lulian said desperately.

"But you're also unsure. If you were so certain you didn't say anything, why call me now? You're uncertain," Ming Yutong argued.

"I…" Jiang Lulian covered his face with his hands. "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to cause any trouble."

He was unable to be sure if he had accidentally revealed anything. But given how sensitive and private the information was, it was clear that only Ming Yutong's family and possibly himself would know about it.
