3rd POV

On the rooftop, a white-haired boy with a panicked expression started running toward the ladder.

'Oh shit, shit,' he kept repeating in his mind while climbing down the ladder.

*Thud*

Jumping off halfway down, Arthur started running deeper into the alleys.

*Groans*

Hearing an uncountable number of moans, Arthur knew that to survive, he had to get out of the city — and as fast as possible.

Running through another alley, Arthur began to think about an escape plan.

1st POV (Arthur)

Looking for a way to escape while being as unnoticed as possible, I ran through the narrow streets and spotted what was probably my only way out of this scenario —

The subway.

Because of the tunnels in the subway… but there was one problem.

THAT place was most likely in a major zombie crisis — probably because it was the city center, or for some other reason.

Looking at what was probably my only escape route, I thought about the bonus quest. Seeing the population of zombies and the entrance to the subway, I clenched my teeth. I knew I had to escape — and now, staring at the way out, I formed a plan.

'Ok, ok, ok,' I kept repeating in my mind. 'What do I do, what the fuck am I supposed to do?!' I thought, grabbing my head.

"Okay… inhale. Exhale. Inhale…" I muttered to myself, trying to calm down.

'Alright, what can I do in this situation?' I thought, checking my skills.

Looking at his magic, a mad grin spread across his face.

Preparing to run, he activated his fire magic, wrapping his sword in flames and strengthening himself with [magic reinforcement].

After preparing, Arthur sprinted toward the subway without stopping, using both magic and sword. During that time, countless system windows began to appear.

Cutting down the zombies in front of him, Arthur noticed he was halfway there — which meant he could initiate the second stage of his plan.

Running straight toward the zombies, Arthur, without hesitation, stepped on one of them and propelled himself high forward.

Seeing that he was about 4/6 of the way to the subway,

Using his wind and gravity magic, Arthur reduced gravity around himself and boosted forward with air magic, launching himself perfectly toward the subway entrance.

During the final seconds of flight, he disabled magic reinforcement and gravity magic — and without hesitation, used fire magic to cause an explosion.

*BOOM*

3rd POV

On the rooftop, a white-haired boy stood frozen for a moment — his chest heaving, eyes darting left and right as a chilling wind brushed past him. The eerie quiet of the city was shattered by distant groans echoing between the skeletal remains of buildings.

Arthur's panicked expression twisted even more as realization struck. Without wasting a second, he bolted toward the ladder.

'Oh shit, shit, shit!' he repeated in his mind like a desperate mantra, his heart pounding so loud it drowned out the sounds below.

His boots clanged against the metal rungs as he descended, breath sharp and uneven.

Thud!

Halfway down, he jumped off, landing roughly on the cracked asphalt, the impact sending a shock through his legs. Without looking back, he dashed into the maze of narrow streets, shadows swallowing his figure.

Groans…

The sound was growing — deep, gurgling, countless. It crawled closer with every second. Arthur didn't need to see them to know: they were waking up.

He clenched his jaw. "I have to get out. Now."

The air was thick with decay. As he sprinted through the alleys, his mind began racing faster than his legs, searching for any way out.

1st POV (Arthur)

My lungs burned. My heartbeat was a drum in my skull. Every turn I took felt like it could be my last.

'Where? Where do I go?' I thought, eyes darting between collapsing buildings and darkened corners.

Then I saw it — a cracked, half-buried sign. The letters were faded, but I could still read it.

METRO.

'Of course… the tunnels,' I realized. Underground routes, enclosed passages — the perfect escape.

But there was one massive problem.

'That place… it's going to be hell down there. If the city's full of zombies, the subway must be worse. It's the center. The heart of the outbreak.'

I stopped for half a second, panting, staring at the entrance in the distance — a dark hole surrounded by flickering red lights.

My hands trembled slightly as I checked the quest window again. The numbers stared back like a death sentence.

[Bonus Objective: Kill Zombies (0/32154)]

I swallowed hard. There were tens of thousands.

"Okay… think. THINK!" I muttered, gripping my head. "What the fuck do I do!?"

I forced myself to breathe. "Inhale… exhale… inhale…" My voice was barely above a whisper, but it helped me hold onto my sanity.

Then, an idea sparked. I opened my skill window — and when I saw what I had, a grin crept across my face.

A mad grin.

'Heh… this might actually work.'

I drew my sword, the metal glinting faintly in the dim light. Flames flickered to life around the blade as I activated my fire magic, the heat licking against my arm.

Then, I whispered:

[Magic Reinforcement]

A rush of power surged through my muscles, my veins burning with magic. My body felt lighter — faster — stronger.

[name: magic reinforcement lvl 1][during activation increases your physical strength by 200%][25 MP / 1 min]

"Alright… let's go."

I burst forward, fire blazing around me. My blade carved through the first zombie that appeared, flames devouring its rotting flesh.

System windows began popping up in rapid succession, flashing before my eyes as I sprinted through the horde.

Each swing, each motion — I didn't stop. I couldn't.

The world blurred into streaks of fire, blood, and motion.

Halfway there. I was halfway to the metro entrance.

'Perfect,' I thought, my heart hammering. 'Time for step two.'

I charged straight toward the densest part of the swarm. Zombies reached for me with blackened hands, but I didn't slow down.

Instead — I jumped.

I stepped on one of their shoulders, then used its back as a springboard, launching myself high above the sea of corpses.

'Four-sixths of the way there,' I calculated midair.

I extended my hand and activated my next set of spells.

Wind and gravity answered my call. The pressure around me dropped instantly — I felt weightless, as if the air itself was pushing me forward.

Using the compressed wind as propulsion, I shot through the air like a cannonball, straight toward the metro entrance.

The air roared in my ears. The world below blurred into chaos.

In the last seconds of flight, I released both spells, feeling the sudden pull of gravity again.

"Now!" I shouted.

I channeled all remaining mana into my palm and unleashed a burst of fire magic behind me.

BOOM!

The explosion shook the street, sending flames rippling through the horde below as Arthur was hurled through the smoke — a streak of light diving into the darkness of the metro tunnels.
