Adrian's face, already unpleasant, grew even darker. Annoyed, he said, "She's giving birth. What does that have to do with me?"
"Yes, sir."
The relationship between Melanie Carpenter and Adrian Desmond was special. While Walter might have guessed Adrian's reaction to certain things, he didn't dare act without authorization; he still needed to inform Adrian.
"Any clues from the people sent to Raelnia yet?"
All leads had dried up. Adrian could only focus on Raelnia, searching one by one. He didn't believe he wouldn't be able to find her!
"No," Walter said softly.
The name Mai was extremely common in Raelnia; almost one-tenth of the female population was named "Mai." They had screened everyone, but none of them was the Mai Adrian was looking for.
