An hour later, Marion returned, his arm injured. It was a gunshot wound, hastily wrapped with gauze, which was still seeping blood.
"I'm sorry, Madam, I've let Night Owl escape again," Marion said with a face full of guilt.
Sienna Johnson had painstakingly found Night Owl's location, but had allowed him to escape again. Now Adrian Desmond was still unconscious…Marion hung his head low, feeling as though he should atone with his life.
Sienna Johnson looked at his wounded arm. Knowing it was a gunshot wound, she dared not call a doctor over for treatment. Guns are banned in Orienta, and a gunshot wound would alert the police. If the police came, it would be hard to explain.
"Wait for me here."
Sienna Johnson went out to find a classmate who was a doctor and borrowed a set of surgical instruments. She then returned to Adrian Desmond's ward to treat Marion's wound.
Unwrapping layer after layer of gauze, Sienna Johnson saw Marion's wound. "Why is the injury so serious?"
