In the dead of night, when it was darkest, Night Owl was still asleep when someone woke him up.
Night Owl was furious.
Lately there had been so much crap going on that Night Owl couldn't sleep, tossing and turning till late. He'd finally managed to drift off, felt like he'd just closed his eyes, and then someone woke him.
"Something happened?" Night Owl's tone was downright nasty.
Silicon said, "Master, Kiya is still alive. Adrian Desmond and Kiya have brought people in and are attacking."
"Wasn't Kiya dead?" Night Owl frowned and asked.
Silicon lowered his head, not daring to look at Night Owl, because he had been the one sent to snipe Kiya. Now not only was Kiya still alive, he'd even led people in to storm the Imperial Palace. Silicon couldn't dodge responsibility.
"The one who died wasn't Kiya, it was a body double." Silicon answered in a low voice.
