Debby's bare soles had just touched the floor when Ben Lucas yanked her back.
He pushed her down onto the bed, one of his long, powerful arms circling her waist, the other stretching out behind her head, neatly locking Debby in his arms.
"It's this cold, what are you getting out of bed for."
The heating downstairs had been turned off a long time ago. Watching Debby go downstairs in the middle of the night barefoot just to look for that thing, Ben Lucas couldn't bring himself to allow it.
Debby blinked, her face full of innocent confusion. "If I don't go down, then what are you going to do? The stuff we bought at the supermarket today should still be downstairs. I'll just go look for it."
Whatever the young master wanted, Debby's instinct was to bring it to him immediately.
This was Debby's mission on a gut level.
Ben Lucas's unfathomable eyes swept over Debby's disheveled clothing, his gaze growing even darker.
