The banquet was resplendent, with dazzling lights everywhere.
But from childhood to adulthood, after so many years, Keira Leaf no longer knew how many such banquets she had attended, so she didn't find anything particularly attractive about the one in front of her.
"How come you have time to come out for a dinner party?" Keira couldn't help but speak, turning her head to glance around, discovering that this seemed to be a charity dinner, and perhaps because she had not appeared in over two years, most of the faces were unfamiliar.
"Afraid you'd be bored alone at home, so I thought of bringing you out for a while."
Keira pouted: "Sounds nice."
Joshua Sulliven smiled gently, leading Keira to the front of the main area and finding a seat. The host of the banquet was standing on the platform easing the atmosphere, and after a while, seeing the time was about right, officially announced the start, along with making some remarks.
