Aldana closed her eyes.
She didn't know why it upset her more than being taken away by Philip Shaw, was that she couldn't continue to stay by her side.
She was ill, and as a friend, she ought to take good care of her.
She shouldn't leave her all alone.
She had promised her that she would stay by her side.
Yet she was truly unfortunate.
Or perhaps, she had always been very unfortunate.
Fate had never favored her.
Two months had passed, and Philip Shaw could still find her. Should it be said that he was too persistent, or was her luck just too bad?
"Aldana." Came Philip Shaw's faint voice from outside the door, "Do you want me to come in and find you myself, or will you come out on your own?"
His tone was just as she remembered, indifferent and elegantly distant.
"Philip Shaw, you scum, what did Aldana ever do to you to make you treat her like this! Harvesting corneas is illegal, you know. I'm going to report you! ...Ugh!"
