The hotpot ordered was hot and clear; Philip Shaw couldn't handle spicy food very well, but Aldana Candi and Guoguo had similar tastes, completely unafraid of spice. Watching Aldana sitting there cooking beef for Guoguo, he put down his chopsticks and said to Aldana, "Let me do it. You eat first."
Aldana glanced at his empty bowl and asked softly, "Don't you like it?"
Philip Shaw nodded, "I don't really like boiled food."
He had eaten finely prepared food since childhood, and wasn't used to this coarse way of cooking.
Aldana looked up at him and didn't say anything more, letting the waiter move the food to his side.
Philip Shaw didn't like eating hotpot, but she and Guoguo really enjoyed it. The buttery hotpot had a rich flavor, and the beef cooked in it was spicy and aromatic, stimulating the appetite.
Amidst the steaming heat of the hotpot, Philip Shaw watched the big and small pair across from him bowing their heads to eat. After a while, he couldn't help but smile slightly.
