Liam Summer had a bit of a headache. He pinched the bridge of his nose and said in a raspy voice, "I just hope she doesn't do anything stupid again."
Steven Balance chuckled and blew out a puff of smoke at him: "When it comes to scaring people, you're much better at it than I am."
A flash of Aldana Candi's clear, black-and-white eyes crossed Liam Summer's mind, the hatred within them etched deeply. He felt an inexplicable irritation and reached out to take the cigarette from Steven Balance's lips, tossing it into the trash can: "Don't smoke in the infirmary. Haven't I told you that?"
Steven Balance maintained that same smiling face, shrugging his shoulders at him: "It's a habit."
Liam Summer took a pack of gum from his pocket and stuffed it into his hand, then waved tiredly, "I'm going to get some rest."
He hadn't slept all night and only felt completely at ease after Aldana Candi had woken up. It was already past one o'clock, and he was utterly exhausted.
