It wasn't until Philip Shaw held her hand and walked for a long time that Aldana Candi came back to her senses. She gently freed her fingers from Philip Shaw's grip and softly said, "I'm fine."
Philip Shaw stopped walking, glanced at the dirt on her clothes from the stones, and gently brushed it off with his hand. "I won't let them leave another mark on you," he said.
His tone was as calm as water, but Aldana Candi could hear a certain gloomy emotion beneath his voice.
Aldana Candi looked into his eyes; his eyes were faintly colored, appearing obscure under the sunlight. She raised her hand and gently patted his face. "They're just ignorant, don't be rough with women," she murmured.
Philip Shaw replied coldly, "Ignorance is a sin."
Aldana Candi thought to herself, offending you is the sin. Yet she still smiled and softly said, "I'm fine."
