Aldana Candi lowered her head to look at the neatly folded scarf in her hands, and an inexplicable feeling of panic surged in her heart. She couldn't help but call out, "Philip Shaw..."
"You should give it to..." Philip Shaw, standing with his back to her, started to speak softly but swallowed his words halfway through. Finally, he whispered, "It's nothing."
He stood in front of her like an invincible statue, beneath the white shirt was his much leaner body than before.
"Before Trenton Smith arrives, I will protect you."
He spoke softly enough for just the two of them to hear.
The man in the floral shirt looked at Philip Shaw with a menacing stare. He seemed somewhat impatient and used the tip of his pistol to prod a tall, skinny white man. "You, go."
The white man was obviously scared stiff, his gaze at Philip Shaw filled with fear. He knew well enough he stood no chance of snatching the woman from behind Philip Shaw.
