"What are you looking at?" Thomas Shannon inquired without raising his head.
Sophie Sullivan looked away uncomfortably, her tone sullen. "Nothing."
Thomas Shannon put down her cleaned hand and picked up the other soft little hand, handling it as if he feared she might shatter. He didn't wipe it right away; instead, he held it in his palm, kneading it a couple of times before smiling. "Still angry over yesterday's incident?"
Locking her in the forest had been a desperate measure. Who told her to suddenly act like a maniac, unwilling to tell the truth even when asked? Even though he locked her in the forest, hadn't he made sure she wasn't hurt? Why was she still holding a grudge?
"Do I seem like that kind of person?" Sophie Sullivan laughed self-deprecatingly, her tone and expression clearly proclaiming, That's right, I am!
