Hours pass as they chat in the garden... well mostly Derek goes on a talking spree about all the 'funny' moments they had, mostly Serena saying the meanest things that he now views as words of 'encouragement'. Mirabelle on the other hand has to sit there and painfully listen at how Serena really isn't a good match for him.
At all.
She wasn't even trying to hide how manipulative she was and how much of a gold digger she actually is and Mirabelle is more surprised at how he just can't seem to see that Serena was blatantly cruel.
The way she spoke to him, the words she used when she was irritated by his condition and how she would only sweet-talk him when she needed to use him.
Yet he believes she did all that to make him stronger.
Mirabelle just can't help but wonder if he's really that bright at all despite being rich.
"Do you mind if we walked?" He suddenly asks as he slowly gets up. "I'd like to stretch my legs and... I liked walking in the garden with you at the hospital."
"Uh... Sure. Let's do that." She nods and gets up almost instantly before rushing to his side to take his hand to guide him away from the table, which makes him chuckle.
"You've become so eager to help me on just about anything." He says as he interlocks their fingers to feel the warmth of her hand that assures him that he's not dreaming. "Did that annoying nurse give you lessons? I hope she wasn't so strict."
Mirabelle pauses when she knows too well that he's talking about her.
She's his only nurse.
"Why do you hate her so much? She's so helpful." She pouts in irritation, glaring at the unsuspecting Derrek.
"I just don't like her." He shrugs. "Can I... walk behind you?"
She is far too annoyed by his words that his words don't register immediately.
"Do whatever you want." She says with an underlying irritation, followed by a huff, only to gasp when he turns her around and hugs her from behind, plastering her back into his front as he leans his head into the back of her neck, inhaling her scent with a deep sniff.
"You always smell amazing without your perfume." He whispers softly as he tightens his hold on her waist, making her tense as she stares at the bushes in shock.
Unsure if she should shove him away or play along.
"I wish I could hold you like this forever." He whispers into her neck, flustering the skin there and plants a small kiss on the back of her neck, sending a shiver up her spine when she feels his warm moist lips press on her skin. "I wanted to hold you like this while I looked at you." He whispers as he loosens his hug only to have his curious hands wonder before shyly feeling the spot on her dress just under her breasts, making her face turn beet red. "To see your face when I touch you more... Curiously."
She grabs his wrist tight and almost flings it away but stops herself a moment short, trying hard to stay in character when she knows he has all the right to want to touch his fiancée.
But she's not Serena...
"Most of the time I can't tell if you like it when I touch you." He chuckles into her ear as he only lets his other hand finally cup her breast, making her tense in horror. "And I want to touch a lot of you." He whispers breathlessly that it fans into her ear, making her entire face and ears turn hot.
"W-We're outside!" She says in a panic and reaches up to grab his other hand, but freezes entirely when his thumb and finger pinch her peaks still covered by the fabric of the bra and shirt, making her head spin. "s-stop!"
He chuckles and hums as he only brings her closer and bites her neck, sucking on the skin there gently, though with intent to leave a mark.
"I was only being curious." He says and lets go of her chest, hugging her waist instead. "Was I taking things too far?"
She stands there, speechless at what has just happened. Her body is still warm from embarrassment and... something else entirely.
So without saying a word, she shakes her head, to which he feels on his chest, making him sigh in relief and kiss her neck again, glad he didn't make her upset when in reality, Mirabelle is wondering why she's putting herself in such a mess...
Wondering why her patient is the first to touch her so intimately when she's supposed to be looking after his health instead.
She didn't sign up to this...
It's not worth the money....
It's...
But then again... It's all for him by the end of the day... For him to recover and not lose hope... She just needs to push a little while longer...
She just needs to make sure they don't go beyond touching.
That it's harmless.
As long as she doesn't sleep with him or be further intimate, she should be just fine.
