"Uncle Reed left this morning. He returned to B Country with Julian Reed."
Mary Douglas paused while holding the child's body.
Arabella Vanderbilt slightly furrowed her brow, "Really not regretful?"
Ruth Wills slowly stood up from the couch.
She looked at Mary Douglas with some worry.
Mary Douglas's eyes flickered, suppressing all her emotions, she said indifferently:
"There's nothing to regret. Regret changes nothing. Should I become mentally ill like him?"
Arabella Vanderbilt pursed her lips, "I hope what you're saying matches your thoughts. Compared to Uncle Reed, he's being hurt by you, and you're hurting yourself; it's not much better than him."
Mary Douglas tugged at the corners of her lips, "Now that you mention it, indeed."
Since she was stubborn, Arabella Vanderbilt didn't say anything further, she bent down to pick up a fiber from the baby's clothes in the stroller.
Ruth Wills looked puzzled, glancing between Mary Douglas and Arabella Vanderbilt.
