Sterling Norwood instinctively pulled Selena Kensington over.
And a clear voice almost simultaneously sounded, "Watch out!!!"
Then, Selena heard the sound of a bullet piercing flesh and a muffled groan.
Being pulled into Sterling Norwood's embrace, Selena's expression in her eyes dispersed for a moment upon hearing that groan.
The owner of that voice is... Vera!
Selena frantically retreated from Sterling's embrace, trembling as she turned around, as if in disbelief.
But what she didn't want to see still happened.
Vera used her own body to block the bullet.
Actually, if Vera hadn't intercepted the bullet, under Sterling's reflexes, Selena would have been hit in the arm at most, not suffering lethal damage. But even so, Vera still resolutely stepped forward.
